Walking (Dog walk) 1:34:21 [1] 3.3 mi (28:34 / mi) +127ft 27:34 / mi
shoes: Hiking boots

More pseudo mapping at Durand. Certainly observing a lot of places where the new map needs improving.

Pickleball 40:00 [1]

Drop-in pickleball at the Rec Center. I played pretty badly, but the upside is that I didn't play very long. Would have been worse to play badly for 2 hours rather than badly for 40 minutes! :)

Durand, with Homer and Cheryl. Again, pseudo mapping -- walking around with map in hand observing where the new map needs more work.

More pseudo-mapping at Durand. Sunny but pretty cold and windy.

Downhill skiing 2:29:35 [2] 22.68 mi (6:36 / mi) +15618ft 4:00 / mi

Skiing with Cheryl. Decent conditions, although a bit firm overall, with a very few icy spots. I demo'd four sets of skis while there -- Elan GSX (GS race ski), K2 Bolt, Salomon Rocker2, and Volkl Kendo. The Elan is a great ski, I know (because one of the top adult racers at Bristol uses it a lot and raves about it), but I suspect I'm not a good enough skier to take good advantage of it. The Salomon Rocker is easy to initiate turns with, but it doesn't hold for beans on anything approaching ice. Probably would be a good ski for powder or soft spring conditions. I really liked both the K2 Bolt and Volkl Kendo. Both were stable and held well on ice. I would say I liked the K2 slightly better on today's conditions, but the Volkl is much wider underfoot (88 mm vs 72 mm) so it would be expected to do much better in any sort of soft-snow conditions. Anyway, lots of fun trying various skis.

GPS got accidentally turned off at one point, so I'm not sure how much was missed.

Pickleball 55:00 [3]

JCC pickleball league. Partner was Glenn. One the first game, lost the next two: 11-5, 8-11, 9-11. I was playing pretty bad all in all. At least relative to how I need to play to be competitive in that league. I would say I'm tied with maybe a couple of other people as the weakest in the league, so when I play my normal game, it's pretty easy to feel like I'm playing badly.
