Biking 1:00:33 [2] 14.17 mi (4:16 / mi) +188ft 4:13 / mi
shoes: Dave Scott Ironman Centurian (

Morning bike ride. Pretty much ideal conditions -- not that windy, nice temperature (mid 60's -- very slightly cool at times but generally just about right). I tried doing more time and distance than last time out.

I swung by the Webster Park courts to see if I could observe any pickleball action, but apparently all of the Webster players were indoors at the Rec Center. No pickleball or tennis going on.

Walking (Dog walk) 43:00 [1] 2.29 mi (18:47 / mi) +8ft 18:43 / mi
shoes: Saucony Progrid Hurricane 11

Mid-day walk with Homer and Hershey, over to Finn Park, but not around the field because that was quite wet .... Hershey really really enjoys going on walks, and it's unfortunate that her owner never takes her on any.

Biking (stationary) 20:00 [1]

At the Rec Center. Not a great selection of stationary bikes there ...

Note

I'm a little disappointed that trailsnail neglected to point out my incorrect use of the word "stationery" when I actually meant "stationary" in my bike workout today ....

(I've now corrected it.)

Biking 21:35 [1] 4.74 mi (4:33 / mi) +29ft 4:32 / mi
shoes: Dave Scott Ironman Centurian (

First attempt of the season to ride the bike. Very short ride, mainly a shake-down to see if the bike was OK (it seemed to be fine) and if my knee was OK with biking (a couple of small twinges but nothing worse than walking, definitely not as bad as pickleball). I'll have to see how it is later today and tomorrow to conclude whether biking is OK or not OK though.

Lawn mowing 25:00 [1]

Front yard only. A bit concerned about some yellowish/brownish patches, in spite of (or maybe because of?) all the rain we've had recently.
3 PM

Walking (Dog walk) 43:36 [1] 2.35 mi (18:35 / mi) +8ft 18:31 / mi
shoes: Asics Gel Venture 3

Late afternoon walk with Homer and Hershey, over to Finn Park and back.

Walking (Dog walk) 1:35:00 [1] 4.0 mi (23:45 / mi) +39ft 23:32 / mi
shoes: Hiking boots

Walk at Gen. Valley Park with the two dogs, Homer and Hershey. I'm course setter for the July 11 trail challenge, so my goal for today was to start getting some ideas for the courses, as well as observe places where the map needs more work (a number were observed, unfortunately ...). According to the weather map, the rain had passed, but actually it hadn't. It drizzled pretty steadily the whole time out.

My GPS somehow stopped for a while, so I added in a very rough estimate of the distance and time that might have been missed.

Note

Knee report (for my own record of progress or lack thereof, mainly) -- it felt reasonably OK but not perfect on the walk. Going downhill was again more of an issue. Fortunately there are very few up or down hills at GVP.

After sitting for a bit when I got home, though, my left knee bothered me a moderate amount for the first few steps after getting up. More so than prior to my walk today. So this may be telling me that I really shouldn't be doing long-ish walks for a while, which is a bit discouraging because in my time off from pickleball, my plan was to do more walking (including some significant time mapping, mainly at Powder Mills) than I normally do. Guess I will now try biking to see how my knee fairs with that, if the rain ever stops.
