Mapping 1:37:25 [1] 3.05 mi (31:57 / mi) +372ft 28:38 / mi
shoes: Saucony Progrid Hurricane 11

SOMEBODY wanted a map of Maplewood to use for a church camp, starting tomorrow ... of course I waited until the 11th hour to get started.

Time and distance included a walk with Cheryl and Freddie so it wasn't all mapping ...

Orienteering (On foot and on bike) 3:31:02 [4] 22.99 mi (9:11 / mi) +1115ft 8:47 / mi

Mendon Adventure-O. Did the foot and the bike portions. I'll split out the times and distances later. Time included the transition time which for me was quite long ... (14 minutes or so, and for the most part not because I was dawdling/resting but more because I'm not used to transitioning and therefore wasn't that well prepared).

Pickleball 1:00:00 [2]

Pickleball at Webster Park. Fairly small group, but some good games, and a perfect day weather-wise (very little wind).
10 AM

Biking 59:25 [1] 15.09 mi (3:56 / mi) +188ft 3:53 / mi
shoes: Dave Scott Ironman Centurian (

Took my bike in the car to pickleball, then did a ride east on Lake Rd to County Line Rd, then worked my way back home. Fortunately, Cheryl was also there to drive the car home, otherwise it wouldn't have made much sense to bike home if my car was still at Webster Park ...

Walking (Dog walk) 52:55 [1] 2.93 mi (18:04 / mi) +7ft 18:01 / mi
shoes: Montrail Mt Masochist Mar 2011

Morning walk with Homer. Into Finn Park, started to go around the big field, but the grass was still very wet from the dew, enough that my shoes would have been totally saturated quite quickly. So headed back to Maple, then took the 104 path to Bay Rd and then home.

One 2-min stop on Maple when I encountered Dan and Theresa Butler who were riding their bikes, and who I hadn't seen in a while, so we spent a couple of minutes chatting.

Pickleball 1:30:00 [2]

Webster Park. Nice afternoon, a bit breezy but not too bad. We had 2 full courts, with 2-3 people sitting out at any particular time. I started off playing terrible (as trailsnail can attest), but improved somewhat after that.

Pickleball 30:00 [1]

Webster Park. Not the greatest weather for pickleball -- quite windy. Still, managed to play 2 games; trailsnail and I vs Richard and Joyce. We lost both games but pretty close each game, I think it was something like 11-8 and 11-9.
10 AM

Strength 35:00 [2]

After bailing out of pickleball, I headed over to the Rec Center, which was my plan originally (in fact, I really hadn't planned on playing any pickleball, I just stopped by the courts to see who was there, but when I found I made the 4th for a game, I felt a bit obligated to stay and play).

Mainly leg stretches and strengthening exercises, plus a few other non-leg activities.

Pickleball 2:15:00 [2]

Webster Park tennis courts. We had 12 people, and were honored to have Joe R. in attendance (coming off of his gold medal in the M60 age group doubles at Picklefest last weekend), and also Carole R. (coming off of winning silver in the 60+ mixed doubles, teamed up with Joe).

Also present were Joyce, Joy, Cheryl, Ken, Tom, Mae, Fran, Dan (fairly new guy, friend of Ken's, picking up the game very quickly), and Scott.
12 PM

Lawn mowing 1:00:00 [1]

Includes time spent cleaning up the edges along the driveway and street with a string trimmer.
