Walking (Dog walk) 42:35 [1] 2.39 mi (17:48 / mi) +8ft 17:45 / mi
shoes: Brooks Ghost 5

Late morning walk with Homer. Mid 30's but quite windy. Fortunately I had dressed reasonably well for the wind chill of around 20 rather than the actual temperature of 34 or so, so I survived OK.

Pickleball 1:30:00 [3]

At the Rec Center. We had 6 courts, all full, with maybe 6-8 people waiting at the peak time.

Wrapped my ankle reasonably well and I think it held up OK with just a touch of bother by the time I quit.

Walk with Homer on a cloudy day with a little misty rain at the end, but all in all, not too bad. Headed north on Maple, with a stop at the creek behind the United Church of Christ, which he declined to go in (or even drink from).

shoes: Montrail Mt Masochist Mar 2011

Another walk with Homer after stopping at Home Depot. El Camino trail again, this time heading north. There's a short trail that goes from the rail-trail to Winona Blvd, where we used to live, ages ago. I took that trail and walked past our old house at 301 Winona. Then headed back, but not exactly the way we came up.

Forgot to bring the GPS. The route:

Pickleball 50:00 [3]

Tried playing pickleball for the first time in a bit more than a week. Wrapped up my ankle with Ace-type elastic wrapping material. Possibly that helped my ankle escape further aggravation, or possibly playing only 50 minutes helped, or a combination. Anyway, my ankle didn't bother me while playing or right after playing. Feels very slightly worse for wear at the moment.

Around the "big block" with Homer. Ankle felt a few tweaks but generally was OK.

I wanted to look at a couple of things at Home Depot, and Homer was due for a walk, so I combined them into one trip. Stopped at Home Depot in Irondequoit, then drove to Hollenbeck and Ridge, parked, and we did a walk on the (relatively new) El Camino rail-trail in the city. Walked as far as Clifford, then worked our way back on city streets.

Certainly a different "look and feel" than the E and SE parts of town where I frequently do walks. I can't say I ever felt unsafe, but I was certainly more aware of my surroundings (things like, hmmm not sure if that's a street I want to walk down, so I won't turn here) with an eye out for anything that would suggest I was getting into an unsafe situation.

My ankle felt OK the whole time; used an elastic ankle wrapping thing, possibly that helped. Or maybe (hopefully) it's just getting better.
