Doing a 2+ hour version of the Roch. Map Adventure to see how things looked from a competitor's point of view.
Found one major issue -- a particular control (which I really liked, a bit of interesting history) was gone! The historical marker had vanished.
I got to 28 controls, counting the one that had disappeared. I am sure I could have done better with some better strategy. Spent too much fairy unproductive time in an area where the controls weren't that close together and missed an opportunity to have focused on a higher density area. But I still viewed this as positive, that someone not running at all, not choosing an optimum strategy, and not using the full 3 hours (much less 5 hours), could get 28 controls. Hopefully this means that most people will find the event reasonably satisfying in terms of being able to get to a decent number of controls, even for those who are doing it on foot, walk the whole way, and choose the shorter time category.
