Walking (Dog walk) 48:54 [1] 2.66 mi (18:25 / mi) +2ft 18:24 / mi

Late-afternoon dog walk, mainly on the Rt 104 path. Quite exciting (in a not so good way), as there appeared to be a pretty major accident on the Bay Bridge going westbound, that probably happened no more than 5 minutes or so after the dogs and I arrived at the Rt 104/Bay Rd intersection. There must have been 15 emergency vehicles getting on 104 at Bay Rd, with their sirens blasting, and traffic was already backed up almost but not quite to Bay Rd. About the time we were walking on the path by the start of the exit ramp to Bay Rd, police were on the scene closing off 104 westbound, making people get off at Bay. Since Cheryl normally comes home that way, and gets off at 5 pm, I gave her a call to warn her against getting on 104; she had already heard, and decided to go Klem Rd instead, which she said wasn't too bad.
8 PM

Running (Treadmill) 28:00 [2] 2.0 mi (14:00 / mi) +200ft 12:47 / mi
shoes: Asics Gel Venture 4

Treadmill workout at the Rec Center. Running on a treadmill is probably marginally safer (in terms of avoiding falls, which I really want to avoid, at least until my arm heals up a lot better) than running on snow and ice outside. I say only marginally safer because once I DID manage to fall off of a treadmill (not paying attention and wandering off to the side of the moving belt), and I got fairly banged up in the fall. But I went very slowly and was particularly careful tonight.
10 PM

Walking (Dog walk) 23:00 [1] 1.1 mi (20:55 / mi)
shoes: Salomon hiking boots

Late night walk, around the small block and through the woods at the end of our street.

Walking (Dog walk) 47:25 [1] 2.67 mi (17:44 / mi) +13ft 17:39 / mi
shoes: Salomon hiking boots

Pretty nippy day. Sunny, but 20 degrees and quite windy. Wind chill was +1 F when I checked the weather before we set out.
10 PM

Walking (Dog walk) 15:00 [1] 0.75 mi (20:00 / mi)
shoes: Salomon hiking boots

Night-time dog walk. Verified that it was no warmer and no less windy than when I took them for a semi-long walk in the morning. But most certainly less sunny.
