Orange course at Mendon. It was an extreme runners course -- lots of travel on trails. That isn't good right now because I am absolutely not a runner. Not only is my endurance very low because of anemia, I'm having right knee issues. I tried some very slow jogging from time to time, on the first 2 controls, but once it felt like it was going to collapse again, and another time there was a sharp pain that didn't go away immediately when I went back to a walk.
I was going to do Brown, but I had my grandson Fred along, who was doing the Yellow course (first time he had tried Yellow). I could tell that if he didn't have major issues on Yellow, he would have waited a LONG time if I had done Brown. As it was, he finished about 25 minutes before me, and we started at almost the exact same time.
#6 was frustrating. Nothing about the map seemed correct. There was supposed to be a building (no building). There was supposed to be a trail (no trail). There was supposed to be some very odd shaped ponds -- no water in them making them much less recognizable. The control was supposed to be in white woods -- definitely not white. Plus the flag was hung so the bottom of the flag was essentially touching the ground. I'll have to look up the standards for flag height, but I'd be surprised if flags on an Orange course are supposed to be touching the ground.
On a positive note, Fred did fine on his first Yellow, on a course that I thought looked a bit on the hard side because it was fairly long and there were only 6 controls - so a lot of opportunities to mess up between controls. He wound up in first place, barely (about 30 seconds ahead of #2).

Aborted run/walk, with trailsnail. Twice, my right knee buckled, causing me to stumble and nearly fall. After the second time, I decided it would be prudent not to continue the running attempt. Not sure what's going on. This is a new issue for me.
Tried to get Teddy to walk around the big block. We got as far as the 104 bike path, a little ways down, and he decided he didn't want to go any further. So, turned around and headed home.

Campus Loop again, this time on bike #1 at Bayview. This was my fastest time at Bayview (marginally), but slower than my time a few days ago at Webster Rec.
Avg 146 watts, 16.3 mph. 675/2413 overall, 35/290 in age group, 2/5 at Bayview.
