XC Skiing (Classic) 4:30:00 [2]
Wasn't quite sure what to label this day as intensity. It was certainly long, and the uphills get my heart going but the pace felt pretty relaxed on the flats. It was a great day up in the Gats and a good group to be out with: Leanimal, Dog Runner, and La Femme rounded out the Bobkitten contingency while Phatty, Phatts Jr, MaxGrab, Mr. Beaudry, and Frantz provided the testosterone. We started at P7 and went up and around skyline for some sketchy downhills and creek avoidance manoeuvers. Headed out to McKinstry via ridge road and the parkway. Special thanks to Dog Runner for the provision of delicious snacks and wine at the hut!!!

Running 40:00 [3]
TNT tonight with a good crew. Managed to get my classmate Jeff (aka NKOTB) to come out and he impressed the boys with his skills of magic and speed. He'll be a good challenge for Sudden in the speed category so I'm not sure whether clueing him to TNT will be appreciated or not! Now we just need to get a compass in his hand...
Running 30:00 [4]
This was the winter rally loop where I chased Sudden and NKOTB up Lowry hill...

XC Skiing (Classic) 2:00:00 [2]
My patience was tested today as my skis were frustratingly slow and slippy. The trails were frozen ice covered with a fine layer of fresh snow and we were really challenging ourselves by blazing new tracks! I learned today that one of the risks of southern ontario skiing is the fact that the ground cover might be so thin that whilst cruising down hills you may indeed collide with some sticks or rocks which like to jump out at you and knock you down - sending your body careening into the frozen mud pack below. I should probably ice my knee, but the polysporin and bandaids will suffice for now....Special thanks to Leanimal, Bash, and Sian for putting up with my whining.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]
Running intervals 40:00 [5]
Good sesh tonight at TNT. Nice big crowd with Zoolander, Sudden, Bob, Tracey, TVP, Tommy Hillflyer, and Jayme. East Chedoke hill loop. Managed to do two extended ones but the other four were one long and one short. The lungs felt three times bigger afterward!
Running (Stairs) 5:00 [3]
10 times alternating doubles and singles.

Running 1:10:00 [2]
Nice and easy on the Chedoke trails. It was a beautiful morning and I stopped for a while at a very pretty spot in the woods (this time was, of course, taken off my total running time) to stretch and breathe and just look at the sun shining through the damp and misty branches. The ground was covered with a very thin layer of snow and you could see patches of little green plants growing up through it. Kinda reminded me of spring, Hmmmm.
