Running 55:00 [2]
Awesome easy run this morning on hard packed trails and roads. Had my new road shoes on and they felt light and cushionny and fast. I felt like a champ and it made me love running again. Also stopped for a stretch along the way to losen up the legs.

Orienteering 2:00:00 [3]
slept:7.0
So, I learned tonight that I'm not such a confident orienteer when a super-skilled O-master such as Mr Pither is not running behind me. Maybe I focus more when I know that he's there watching, or maybe I know deep down inside that he'd correct me if I'm terribly off, or maybe his presence just reminds me to keep it together. Well, whatever the reason, when I headed out on one of the Ancaster Creek maps tonight by myself I made a massive parallel error on my third control (look at me with the fancy o-speak!), which Mr Pither would probably not even consider a parallel error because it was just so wrong, and I lost a ton of time and confidence which sort of started me off on the wrong foot. But I guess mistakes are there to learn from, and I did better on the next map when Mr Pither and I were swaping nav between controls. He is very fast.

I felt a wee bit better tonight than I did the last couple of outings. Still felt pretty dead going up the steep hills at the end, but felt better on our run back to the car along the rail trail so at least I know that the recovery is coming back.

The humidity of summer is already getting to me. Was super thirsty again today, and feeling beat, so came home and ate a huge bowl of pasta and drank a couple vats of water.

Is it really supposed to be over 30 degrees on Sunday?? Yikes.

Orienteering 2:00:00 [3]***
slept:8.0
Training day out in DV with Mr Pither. We ran on an old training map which started at the Ancaster community centre. We took turns swapping nav between controls today, so I'm sure Pith got more of a workout in than he did yesterday. I was dying by the end of it though and so I forced him to slow down a bit. These 3 weeks of healing time may have taken their toll! However, i will be much fitter and stonger and quicker on Sunday and I'm sure I'll still feel fantastic as me and my fellow feline friend saunter across the finish line ahead of MBR and Grizzly Bender.
