Running 29:19 [3] 5.3 km (5:32 / km) +52m 5:16 / km

A quick lap around the reservoir to test out my toe that I managed to sprain (and tear!!) by walking into the bedpost. It takes a special person to injure themselves by walking around in their bedroom!

Running race 2:16:05 [3] 24.3 km (5:36 / km) +737m 4:52 / km

Rundle's Revenge 25km. Managed a second place finish behind a very very fast woman named Ailsa Macdonald. She beat me by a whole 10min. No idea who she is, but I'll make sure to adjust my race result expectations next time I see her name on a startlist!

Legs felt discouragingly heavy. Last year when I wasn't biking at all (because of my arm) I felt so light and fast and bendy... now I feel like a charging rhino. Time to lean out for Broken Goat 50km which is in three weeks. Yikes!

Okay, I just found this, and it makes me feel better.. http://runningmagazine.ca/scott-arnald-and-ailsa-m...

Running 1:17:36 [3] 12.2 km (6:22 / km) +371m 5:31 / km

Vetting the course marking on the Rundle's Revenge course for this weekend's race. Didn't have to add too many flags, but did dawdle a bit...until I realized that I was going to be late for the eye doc and had to pretty much get up to race pace at the end!

Glad I didn't see the griz that Dia ran into an hour after I started. :o

Running intervals 57:47 [3] 8.9 km (6:30 / km) +274m 5:38 / km

Dirtbag night. Did some sort of strange pyramid thing. Not quite sure. Bottom line was that my efforts weren't much faster than my non-efforts... Time to pick up the pace, Pye!

MTB 1:03:48 [3] 12.1 km (5:16 / km) +323m 4:39 / km

Out with Julie, Kir, and Maria around the G-town trails. I should have protested when Kir suggested Reflection Lake as the meeting spot as this was were this past weekend's race was, but I didn't really clue in in time. Oh well. We rode one new trail for me so that was good.
3 PM

Running 2:08:22 [3] 16.8 km (7:38 / km) +741m 6:16 / km

Run into Lake O'Hara. Plan was to get out the beautiful McArthur Lake, but a serious rain storm delayed my start. The run up the road felt sluggish (maybe it was the giant chicken curry burrito I scarfed down before I hit the road in Golden?), and that feeling kind of stuck around for most of the day. Once I got up to the lake it was hard to run for all the beauty. I love Lake O'Hara. Caught the bus out with the lovely Nadja.

All in all, I'm chalking this one up as more of a trek/run.
