Paddling 1:30:00 [3]

Céaslóireacht

Toot around Deep Cove. It was a wee bit windy out there and some good splashy and wavy action so we elected to not cross the channel and instead ripped downwind along the shore and then gave our muscles a workout with the paddle back into the headwind. We saw some cool birds, and some pretty fancy houses along the shoreline. We also saw a massive yacht that was throwing the biggest wake I'd ever seen. The lesson learned here was that hiding behind a dock does not save you from the carnage. In fact, it only magnifies the waviness with the bounce-back off the shore and succeeds in getting the adrenaline pumping even harder with the resultant washing-machine effect!!

Siúlóireacht

Grouse to Crown to Haines and Lynne Valleys with a pretty full pack. There is some seriously gnarly terrain back there. I was reminded of how big and fat our mountains are out here, and how sparsly vegetated.... It felt super epic back there in the deep lush valleys.

The push up to Crown was spectacular and a bit techy. There was the option of going down the "Crown Couloir" but it definitely looked a tad adventurous: full of snow and steep and rocky. Best to scout that one from the bottom before attempting the descent!

We met a very nice, if not just a tad flatulant, German man who followed us like a bit of a lost puppy. He was kind of like a third teamate, with the farting and everything, except he didn't supply us with any jujubes.

Feet were sore at the end of this day!

Rothar Sléibhe

MTB in Squamish with Leanimal! So worth the drive out here from the Rockies, and such a good catch up with Lee. We climbed Legacy to Half Nelson, rode that beauty of a trail back down to the bottom of the system, then back up Garibaldi road to Galactic. We considered heading up to Elfin Lakes but thought better of it. Turns out Galactic wasn't a super choice in the end, but it turned out to be good AR training to say the least.

I rode my hardtail, which sure felt scary after so much time on my new bike. I actually manually dropped the seat for some sections. Once you get a dropper post, it's pretty hard to go back!

All in all, a fantastic day out on some amazing trails!!

Cycling 1:58:50 [3] 45.3 km (2:37 / km)

To Banff (Tunnel Mtn road) and back. Jeff got two flat tires. I had two flat legs. What is wrong with me??

Maybe it's the fact that I last picked up my 3 months supply of iron pills in January and only just ran out today. Oops.

A quick lap around the reservoir to test out my toe that I managed to sprain (and tear!!) by walking into the bedpost. It takes a special person to injure themselves by walking around in their bedroom!
