Tuesday Oct 30

Running (hills) 45:00 [3]6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)
6xHill repeats. Felt great.

Monday Oct 29

Running 43:31 [3]6.9 mi (6:18 / mi)
Legs felt great after yesterday's long run. Went with a good strong stride tonight, but still felt pretty comfortable.

It was a good confidence boost to have a solid run like this after a somewhat average long run yesterday.

Sunday Oct 28

Running (long) 2:28:00 [3]21.3 mi (6:56 / mi)
Ran from home to work, with a loop in High Park. Aerobically felt strong the whole way, and my legs never felt tired - even on the hills in High Park. Just felt like things in my legs were never quite working properly. Little aches and pains here and there that never really went away.

For that reason, I found this to be a really tough run mentally. But pace was good, and my legs feel good now walking around 4 hours later, so that's good news.

Saturday Oct 27

Event: Horror Hill 15k Road race

Running (pace) 1:09:30 [3]10.0 mi (6:56 / mi)

Friday Oct 26

Running (road) 58:42 [3]8.5 mi (6:53 / mi)
Out and back. Things still not feeling 100% in the legs when I start up, but always seem to work themselves out 10-15 minutes in.

NOTE TO SELF: Start shopping for new legs. These ones may be wearing out.

Wednesday Oct 24

Running (2/1) 1:07:00 [3]10.0 mi (6:42 / mi)
First 3-4 miles my legs felt tight. I did my best to control my pace and take it easy. I'm guessing my initial pace was around 7:10. Legs kept feeling better and better throughout. Last 2-3 miles I was pushing hard.

Tuesday Oct 23

Running (intervals) 45:00 [4]9 km (5:00 / km)
About 2-3k warmup.

8x800m, with about 1-2 minutes rest. Lungs felt great as usual, still feeling a bit tight in the legs. Why? No idea at this point. Didn't have a watch with me, but felt like I was firing them off pretty quickly.

Keep stretching, keep stretching, keep stretching...

Monday Oct 22

Running (road) 53:00 [3]7.7 mi (6:53 / mi)
Aerobically, felt very comfortable. But my legs felt a bit stiff - hopefully just from the weekend.

Sunday Oct 21

Running (road) 38:00 [3]5.6 mi (6:47 / mi)
Road run up in Ottawa around the river and canal. Legs were a little heavy at first, but loosened up and felt pretty good despite yesterday's race.

Saturday Oct 20

Event: Gatineau Park Rogaine - 2 or 8 hrs

Running (rogaine) 8:15:00 [2]42 km (11:47 / km)
Hardly stellar race. About 15 minutes in, Billy slammed his toe into a rock, and he's pretty sure that it was broken. We still managed to continue on at a slower pace, but had lots of fun regardless.

Nav was pretty solid. One stupid mistake, and then three CPs we found tough to find.

We also underestimated our return time and were 15 minutes late...costing us 150 points. Ouch.

Great day though.

Wednesday Oct 17

Running (road) 1:00:00 [2]8.3 mi (7:14 / mi)
Took it a little easy on this one. I'm working on convincing myself that it's okay to go for a run without trying to kill oneself. Serious mental struggle.
Running (soccer) 1:00:00 [4]
Tried to kill myself.

Tuesday Oct 16

Yoga 1:00:00 [3]
New yoga dude - a little wacky. But did some good hip opening stuff that really worked out my peri and piriformis.

It's just so tough to hit both of those muscles sometimes...

Monday Oct 15

Running (road) 35:00 [3]5.6 mi (6:14 / mi)
Felt periformis a little bit towards the end, but overall felt pretty good.

Sunday Oct 14

Ride (road/trail) 3:45:00 [3]85 km (2:39 / km)
From home down to Pottery Rd. A good loop through the Don Valley, then back home at a leisurely pace. Stopped to watch the TO marathon a bit. Saw Harper and Chris running.

The Don was a little wet in places, but still tonnes of fun. Managed to stay off my head this time...

Saturday Oct 13

Running (trail/orienteering) 2:00:00 [2]
In the woods around Ancaster with Bill. Not too bad a day - we took it pretty easy and tried to think through all our choices pretty thoroughly.

Actually went pretty well considering it's been awhile since I've had a compass in my hand.

Friday Oct 12

Running (road) 41:00 [2]6.0 mi (6:50 / mi)
Felt pretty comfortable. Calves were still a little tight from Wednesday, but no pain in my in my hip.

21' out, 20' back.

Had a great stretch session too, which I came this close to skipping...
Running (beer mile) 13:11 [5]1.0 mi (13:11 / mi)
This is not natural. After the first beer, during the first lap, I was already starting to cramp up.

Half-way through the second beer, I puked up a foam/liquid medly. Deelicious. After this, the second lap was somewhat uneventful.

Third beer. This one hurt. Was slow and painful going down. Managed to get it all down, but things were not kosher in the belly. Started running and right away I felt the liquids slowly turning to foam. Things immediately started backing up my esophagus. I then spent the entire first turn with my head turned to the left vomiting over my shoulder. Needless to say, I felt much better after this.

My fourth beer went down quite well, and the last lap and my penalty lap for puking were quite smooth actually.

Final lap time: 1:15.

I laughed at my puke as I ran past it to the finish line! Ha!

I'm planning on making this at least an annual event. Who's in?!?!

Ride (commute) 1:05:00 [3]31 km (2:06 / km)
Running (road) 46:00 [4]12 km (3:50 / km)
Running (soccer) 1:00:00 [5]
Running (road) 55:00 [2]12 km (4:35 / km)
Intensity of 2. Mentally this was a 5 though.

My. Legs. Hurt.

Tuesday Oct 9

Yoga 1:00:00 [3]

Saturday Oct 6

Event: Ontario Champs

Running 1:15:00 [3]

Wednesday Oct 3

Running (indoor soccer) 1:00:00 [4]
Great night. Exciting news: I found the lung that I coughed up during last weeks game. Great to have the lung capacity back up to 100%.

In related news, Zoo asked me to ask everyone to keep an eye out for his feeling that he lost in the Don Valley the other night. It's the only one he has, so he told me he would've been feeling pretty sad about it, if he only could.

Tuesday Oct 2

Ride (mtb) 1:00:00 [3]
Riding through the Don with Phatty, Zoo, and Rich.

I landed on my head. Zoo has a haematoma on his wrist. Rich landed on his head and shoulders. Phatty rode out prettier then he rode in.

Hmmmmmm.

Monday Oct 1

Running (road) 1:45:00 [3]25 km (4:12 / km)
From work to Port Credit. Bought some delicious pasta and some chocolate milk while I waited for the bus.

Legs felt a little bit tight and shoulders were a little tired from the body weights I've been doing. Running and weights don't mix.
