really wanted to play tonight, but was thinking of the race tomorrow. happened to be in the right place at the right time - hat trick. brother also had a hat trick although I could argue he was in the crease on the last one.

at trout brook. it was raining when we started. then it got dark and the skies opened up, so we decided it was time to start. marks were hard to see and we managed to cut off a bit and wound up on the "in" trail. so rick dewitt and I back tracked and found the true trail and ran alone. found some rogue hashers and showed them the way back. it was longer than I wanted to run, but legs were fine.

from bethel to gaylordsville and back. some nice country up beyond the lake. feeling good. road by myself. warm and humid by the end, but the early start was quite nice.

deweese property
had to get used to the vegetation, but once I warmed up to it things went smoothly. just have to slow down in the circle, because the visibility was about zero.
Orienteering race 16:44 [4]*** 1.7 km (9:51 / km) +85m 7:52 / km
ahr:156 max:171 shoes: VJ twister
Rattlum mt sprint 2 chase start
JJ heading out 1 min behind did give me a little worry so I wanted to go easy the first few. I blew the first one and thought I heard him. nailed 2, but blew 3 even worse. no sight of anyone though. cruised the rest of the course and made sure I did not have any major time losses. the woods opened up a bit too, so it was easier to see where I was going.
nice courses, great location and another fun day in the woods.

threatening weather so we did like a star route. out a bit, back towards town. speed was not funtioning for 30 mins or so, distance is an estimate. we also stopped for the rain to pass for about 10 mins. wish I had a road bike. mine is just too old.

did not feel like running, but as peter says "you will". and I sort of did after the downhill start, but really just kept a steady slow pace. couple small errors, but enough room to still beat two young studs on the run in.

too much mindless peddling and paddling. even the trek was simple, but we managed to sneak past the lead team. go figure. don't like answering questions either. should not be a part of this type of race.
