I have not been orienteering in awhile - can't remember the last time actually.
however I have been on a map for the last few months so I expected to run fairly well technically. physically I have been training less than I would like, but I am far from out of shape so I was not surprised by how I felt out there. ran easy to start and nailed 1, but got pulled away from 2 and down the stream. funny how you look at things and map it in your head and then look at the map and you don't see what you expect. lost a bit at 2 and then going to 3 due to not really reading the map. stopped early on my way to look at a few other cliffs and then realized there was a nice catching feature that I should have picked up.
from 3 on I had nothing go wrong. ran hard and finished strong. another weekend of training (pound ridge and harriman) and I will be ready for WP.
I guess I should register.
