Day 2 Troll Cup - TSF
chase start
39 seconds behind Giovanni, but he's on M35, so forget about him.
watched GB exit start down the trail. followed quickly while reading the map. chose the middle route. good start. continued plodding away flag after flag, nothing lost to mistakes. lost some seconds here and there from being cautious. better to lose a little over losing minutes and possibly the lead. another fun course. I think when the courses are difficult I actually do better as I am completely engrossed in the navigation. when there are moments of trail running I lose focus easily. so two good days with no "error" recorded by attackpoint analyzers.
a week to get some legs back for the ultra long next week.

result = not too bad

still recovering from last week. pain in the quads persists. played hockey monday and they were OK, sat on the bike a few nights, but nothing strenuous. then a couple days off. ran for the first time going to the start. felt ok, but no speed to speak of.
Orienteering was very good today. knew where to run, took good clean routes and executed well. stopped when things were starting to look unfamiliar and compassed right back to where I needed to be. No distractions, no loss of focus, no songs stuck in my head.

chase start tomorrow should be a non factor. 3 minute gap is a long time in these woods. just need to repeat today and the result will take care of itself.
