Wednesday Apr 30

hiking 1:25:00 [2]
25 min on lunch break to the cemetary and back - then 1 hour behind the mower.

Tuesday Apr 29

hiking 56:00 [2]
Around South Coventry after a brief visit to the library.

Sunday Apr 27

mountain bike 1:10:00 [3]
To Nathan Hale Homestead and back. 35 min. each way. Hope to make the same trip many Sundays this summer, to go to the Farmer's Market.
trail running 50:00 [3]
Hid the bike behind a stonewall and ran trails in the Nathan Hale State Forest. Legs felt much better today than yesterday.
Note
Had every intention of going orienteering today, but the clothes dryer broke down last night so had to shop for a replacement, drag it home and install it. Ended up having to replace the exhaust duct system which meant another trip out to Home Depot.

Saturday Apr 26

Monday Apr 21

weights 10:00 [2]
hiking 41:25 [2]
During lunch break.
mountain bike 1:05:00 [3]
Nathan Hale State Forest bridle trails and single track. Spilled it hard once early on. Tough workout.

Sunday Apr 20

hiking 44:00 [2]
Perfect day for a run or a long hike, but spent the whole day working on the "to do" list, rebuilt the gate to the south pasture, added 2' to the height of the fence around the garden to keep Spree from escaping, cut down and cut up a 45' cherry tree. Ended the evening with a quick hike around the neighborhood at moonrise.

Saturday Apr 19

trail running 29:21 [3]
Schoolhouse Brook Park in Mansfield. If it had been this warm for the Billygoat, I never would have finished.
hiking 38:43 [2]
After the trail run at Schoolhouse Brook.

Friday Apr 18

hiking 39:00 [2]
To Keeney Park and Leadership Trail on lunch break.

Thursday Apr 17

hiking 32:00 [1]
Trails west to the CT River from Main St. in Glastonbury on lunch break

Wednesday Apr 16

hiking 1:26:00 [2]
Two sessions - 30 min. on lunch break in Riverside Park and power walk to the end of Hannah Lane and back after dinner.

Monday Apr 14

hiking 28:00 [1]
Lunch break
weights 30:00 [2]
Light weights and therabands followed by stretches.

Sunday Apr 13

orienteering race 2:56:54 [4]
Billygoat at Clear Lake. Was able to push myself harder than I had expected - especially pleased with several longish trail runs. Knew where I was most of the time. Bobbles on the way to 5, 7 and 8.

Thursday Apr 10

hiking 52:20 [2]
Power walk to end of Hannah Lane and back after dinner.

Wednesday Apr 9

hiking 28:00 [2]
During lunch break
trail running 34:00 [4]
Trails in Weigold and Tobiason Preserves and some running in terrain. Trying out the active ankle again. Not sure about using it in the Billygoat.

Monday Apr 7

hiking 1:15:00 [2]
Never left the farm today, but got in some hiking down to the stream and waterfall below Mary Meadow and 12 laps of the driveway (3 miles) with Lucy and Tiger Lilly.

Sunday Apr 6

hiking 1:25:00 [2]
Today's tour of the Ozarks ended up being more driving than hiking but we did get in a hike up Lost Valley with its amazing limestone cliffs, caves and waterfalls. Sunny and warm.

Saturday Apr 5

hiking 2:30:00 [2]
Devil's Den State Park near Fayetteville. The brochure says "spectacular Ozark scenery" and I agree. This hike included some caving and some really steep trails.
hiking 30:00 [3]
Fast hike down and then back up Mount Sequoyah in Fayetteville to see the incredible post and beam lodge being built there.

Friday Apr 4

orienteering 3:10:00 [2]**
Alma Arkansas Mini Rogaine. Got all 15 controls with only a minor bobble or two. Saw many of the most scenic points on the farm, and finally saw the sun for a few minutes for the first time since I got to Arkansas. Streams and waterfalls were as full as they ever will be after last nights downpours. Tornados were 150 miles from here. Jesse was worried but the map and control locations were very accurate.

disc golf 1:15:00 [1]
18 holes on a ridiculously hard course in Alma

Thursday Apr 3

road run 29:45 [3]
Ridge Road in Alma. Half gravel/half paved.

Wednesday Apr 2

Note
Had hoped to get in my first Arkansas workout after a long day of flying and driving, but nasty thunder storm put an end to my plan to run around the farm.

Tuesday Apr 1

Note
Preparing to travel on Wednesday left no time for a workout
