Saturday May 21

Adventure Race race 4:45:00 [4]
Sprint AR in Georgetown TX with Jesse, Merrick and Ferris. Temp at 9am start was mid 80's - nearly 100 when we dropped out 4-3/4 hours later. Biking and orienteering sections both went well, but "mental" challenges became insurmountable as dehydration took its toll. When it became obvious that the lengthy kayaking section in full sun on the lake would probably kill us before we could return for the last short "O" legs, we reluctantly bailed. We had a great time, but should do a winter race in TX next time. No problems with rehabilitated calf muscle. Time to end physical therapy.
