Sunday Oct 29

orienteering 1:10:00 [5]
Hanging and then collecting controls before and after the Osborndale meet. Great day and good turn out.

Saturday Oct 28

orienteering 1:15:00 [2]
Hanging controls for Sunday meet at Osborndale. Rainy, windy and warm.
road run 35:20 [3]
Thought all the rain had passed, but 5 minutes into the run it poured for a few minutes then the sun came out. Nice rainbow. Then sun was gone and wind picked up to cool me off. Strange run.

Wednesday Oct 25

trail running 1:03:07 [3]
Rail trail from Vernon to Rockville. Went farther than intended because I was curious about this section that I hadn't run before. Close encounter with a fox who moved off the trail a few feet to let me pass and then back on to finish eating whatever he had found.

Saturday Oct 21

road run 1:10:12 [3]
Dropped car off at Bolton Motors and ran home via Rte. 44./32, School Rd. Ext. and Broadway. Cut through the woods from the road to the backyard, about 100 meters and picked up 4 ticks.
mountain bike 45:00 [3]
Mountain bike on roads to Bolton Motors. Rte. 44 was pretty scary with gusty winds blowing me around between the guard rails and the traffic.

Friday Oct 20

road run 41:22 [3]
Morning off from work so got in a rare weekday early run. Felt better as the run went on.

Wednesday Oct 18

trail running 49:29 [3]
Case Mountain trails from the Case Pond parking lot on Birch Mountain Rd. after work. Legs still a little weak after the Highlander.

Sunday Oct 15

orienteering race 6:45:00 [4]
Back to the Highlander after missing last year to injury. I was surprised to see how close my route choices were to PG's. Spent 2 hours, 45 min more on the course than he did though. Major cramping on the last segment. Obviously not in shape for that kind of distance and climb. Perfect day in the forest.

Monday Oct 9

trail running 43:30 [4]
Rail trail from Steele's Crossing south for 22:30 and then back north (uphill) pushing as hard as I could.

Saturday Oct 7

trail running 59:52 [3]
Road run to Tobiason Preserve -outer trail loop and back home through the woods.

Tuesday Oct 3

mountain bike 1:00:52 [3]
Road loop over to Kollas Orchard and back finished with a mile of serious mud in Liberty Croft Estates.

Sunday Oct 1

orienteering race 1:40:45 [4]
Trout Brook Valley red on a very wet day. 7.2 k. with 17 controls. One major - 10 min. - error and a couple of minor bobbles that cost a minute or less. Felt good and ran hard where it wasn't too rocky. Glanced at compass twice during relocation efforts.
