Saturday May 24

hiking 2:24:00 [3]
From The Notch west along the M-M trail (Seven Sisters route). Almost the same time as Phil's recent workout but he made it farther than I did. I had to turn around short of the Summit House to be sure to be back to Granby in time to see Bonnie and the dogs compete. Ghillie was first in his class. Shawna dq'd when she knocked a bar on one of the last jumps and Spree scratched because of a a foot injury he got on the A-frame in practice a few days ago.
Food vendor with the super bread pudding was there!!!

AOWN: Wild columbine is in full bloom along the trail. Turtle rescue season has begun - removed a large painted turtle from the roadway.

Rail trail from Bolton Notch to Willimantic, streets of Willimantic to the Co-op for a drink and a brief rest then back to the Notch. Most of the rail trail is in fine shape. One section had new stone dust but had been wrecked for biking by people on horseback. Rattled my teeth.
