Thursday Jan 31

Running hills 10:00 [5]
1 x 40sec/45sec/50sec/55sec/60sec hills at Middlewood then jogged back with young Kelly. Racing Saturday so skipped half the session!
Running 45:00 [3]
run to clubhouse, middlewood, round a bit, club house, home
weather wasn't too bad - just a bit of gales and snow....

Wednesday Jan 30

Climbing 1:00:00 [1]
better than last week, did a couple of new oranges, and some other stuff... and lots of chatting!

Sunday Jan 27

Orienteering race 1:00:00 [5]****
spiked:20/24c
Tankersley Badge Event. Great map from Neil and great course too. I totally screwed up at the start and had lost almost 2 mins by number 2 but got into it after that and was running pretty well for the last few legs at least! Felt better than yesterday but a bit tired.
C • Going climbing tonight with... 6
Running warm up/down 25:00 [3]
warm up, quite a bit and down, hardly at all!

Saturday Jan 26

Cross Country race 32:54 [5]8 km (4:07 / km)
Northern Champs 86th. Didn't run well, no power on the hills. Good sprint finish though and beat a lass on the line (especially satisfying as we had had an altercation during the race!). The Hallamshire women won by a point!!!! and our 2nd team would have been 9th too!
C • Sprint finish 3
Running warm up/down 50:06 [3]
warm up round course and drills, warm down round lake (with o-map).
Roundhay park, Leeds.

Thursday Jan 24

Running intervals 12:00 [5]
3 x 800m reps with first half hard and second cruising in hillsborough park felt surprisingly good.

Wednesday Jan 23

Climbing 1:00:00 [1]
couple of hours at the works with the boys. i wasn't much good so mainly did repeats of cool blues and greens and some of the new spotty ones.

Sunday Jan 20

Running 40:00 [3]
boring Loxley run again!
C • worksing 3

Saturday Jan 19

Running 40:00 [3]
Loxley run, good to get out but tired.

Friday Jan 18

Note

Thursday Jan 17

Running hills 25:00 [5]
1 x 7.12 long rep from Malin Bridge up to the cemetery just after trickets (fun - all uphill!)

then 2 x 4 hills (short, med, long, extra long) in horrendous weather at tricketts ( my fault as as we arrived I said that the weather was usually horrible at tricketts so we were lucky - then the rain came!!)
C • long rep 2
Running 30:00 [3]
to club house to Malin Bridge and home on my own but dinner was cooked!

Wednesday Jan 16

Climbing 1:00:00 [1]
some new orange ones but I couldn't do many (Candyman and OJ were looking good though) did some blues and greens I hadn't done before though and Phil even called me Pippa at one point so I must have been climbing well!!?? Saw Magic there later on.
C • Orange 2

4 x 1km on the treadmill with 2min 30 recovery

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]
on treadmill

Monday Jan 14

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]
treadmill at SHU gym lunchtime
Weights 30:00 [2]

Not very long as I had to be shown around and then had a right faff with the lockers and had to dash back to classes...
C • will you have time to go to... 5

Sunday Jan 13

Running 40:00 [3]
Finished classes early so managed to get out just before dark for a quick loop from home up to Bole Hill into Rivelin and back.

Saturday Jan 12

Note
(rest day)
Day 1 of TESOL at SHU might not be able to do much training over the next 5 weeks...
C • TESOL 5

Friday Jan 11

Climbing 1:00:00 [1]
Climbing Works, fell off the first route and bashed my elbow but managed a few I hadn't done before and even tried some blacks...

Thursday Jan 10

Running 1:10:00 [3]
home from work and then Loxley run, tummy still slightly funny so skipped hallamshire session.

Wednesday Jan 9

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3]
3 and a bit loops in Eccy Wds. Good to get out and do some night-o thanks to Clare. The reflective controls were amazing (thanks candyman). I was very slow!

Tuesday Jan 8

Running intervals 25:00 [5]
4 x 1 km (was actually 5 but I had to detour to the loo after 400m of the 4th one!)
Running them in about 3.50 (much slower than usual due to the ridiculous wind) and not sure about recovery - meant to be 90secs but I think that might have been of Jules and she was about 100m ahead of me! (I didn't have my watch).
Skipped the sprints as back in the loo - tip: not only should I avoid muffins on track days but all butter shortbread too!
C • sick you are... 3
C • sick you are... 1
Running warm up/down 45:00 [3]
to track until Ian stopped and gave me a lift, 4 laps with the girls before and after the session.

Climbing 1:00:00 [1]
Climbing Works with Hatti and Rick. Defo improving!

Saturday Jan 5

Note
(rest day)
Enforced - Oli and I thought the XC was at Storthes Hall (seemingly it got moved about a month ago!) so spent hours driving round all the schools in the vicinity to try to find it only to discover (via ringing my sister) that it was actually the other side of Huddersfield (therefore through the cup tie traffic!) and we arrived just in time for Oli to start. Luckily Hallamshire women certainly didn't miss me as Jules was 2nd, Lizzie 6th and Nic 11th to take the gold. Congrats to Lizzie on getting picked for the mighty YORKSHIRE!

Friday Jan 4

Note
(rest day)
Work then shopping then cinema.

Thursday Jan 3

Running 40:00 [2]
from work to hallamshire and back slowly as had a bit of a sore throat today. Think (hope) it might just be from climbing chalk though???
C • Chalky throat 9

Wednesday Jan 2

Running 25:00 [2]
from work to climbing works very slowly!
Climbing 1:00:00 [1]
Climbing Works with a big gang again! Mat-D, Candyman, OJ, Nails, Kelly, Jo, Kim, Ricky, Rick and Chris, saw Marcus's flatmate too and apparently Tim Austin was there too.
Oli left his wallet behind and had to drive all the way back to rescue it.

Tuesday Jan 1

Nice slow hungover run from the Fox House through Longshaw and Burbage with Kathy, Clare, Kelly, Jo and Lizzie.
