Sunday Apr 15

Event: British Elite Middle Distance Championships

Orienteering race 39:00 [5]
Not a good run, lost 20 secs at no 1 (!) and just carried on from there really. Scrappy and hesitant. Well done to Helen - she's definitely back! I really like Mulgrave but not today...
C • I thought it was good. 2
Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]
warming up and extra long warm down to go and do a few legs again without the hesitation - felt better after that.

Saturday Apr 14

Event: British Elite Sprint Orienteering Championships

Orienteering race 14:00 [5]
OK run in qualification (2nd) apart from getting down to the underpass for the last control - should have done some geeking beforehand!
Orienteering race 16:00 [5]
Better race in the final, lucky to catch a glimpse of hel vino already at no.2 but took ages to catch her! Still can't get close to Pippa in sprint though.
Great map and course.
Running warm up/down 50:00 [3]
jogging, strides, etc (no swim for me though)

Friday Apr 13

Note
rest day (another one!)

Thursday Apr 12

Running 1:00:00 [3]
home from work, to Hallamshire, 2 reps (2.16 and 2.10 hmmm quite a bit quicker than last week there - bodes well!) and home again

Wednesday Apr 11

Orienteering 14:13 [5]
Sprint race round Sheffield training for Saturday. Mike overtook me (twice) I also started to go from 7-10 oops. Crafty planning - not like my dad at all!?
Running warm up/down 45:00 [3]
Up to the race and back and finish to start etc, with Oli and some of the other guys, lovely evening.

Tuesday Apr 10

Note
rest day!

Monday Apr 9

Orienteering race 34:40 [5]
Relay day. Anchored the SYO women to 1st (again!) after a solid first leg from Laura on her club debut and a great second leg from Helen. I was really scrappy after the spectator control (train tracks, high fences, bramble jungles and even an actual train in my way) but luckily had a big enough lead. Shame the lads got DSQd but even my dad did so there must have been something dodgy going on. Nice to have ShUOC next to us on the podium...
Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]
ran around the field a bit to try to loosen legs and afterwards just went for a lie down instead of a warm down!
