| Beerienteering: amazing! Went to the Pleasance and watched them all come back, after 8 pubs in about 4 miles. Just like last year, they all came back completely wasted and it was a miracle that we didn't get kicked out. Some show had also just finished in the theatre, and all the nice people had come for a quite one in the bar. Yeah right. We then went to Potterrow, with Flower of Scotland resonating around the pleasure dome. The Haries did themselves proud, first on the dance floor and busting the moves. I went home quite early.
This morning I went to the secret ERC training, which has now pretty much replaced the normally session. We started off pretty fast, riding hard up the hills out of Edinburgh. Headed out on country roads to Peebles, into the wind the whole way out, but an awesome route. Went up the hills like Soler and did some massive Voigt style pulls at the front of the lead out train. I can't wait to get racing. Tried to watch the World Indoors, but BBC interactive was being totally jobby. Had to watch team sports instead. Hopefully my rollers have arrived down at the shop so I don't have to ride in Hurricane Mofo tomorrow.

| Running 45:00 [3] | ||
| Some steady running around Blackford before the KB 5. Leg felt a bit tight, probably still feeling the effects from Glentress. Was pissing down with rain on my way to KB, but cleared up as I went out running. Which was nice. Stayed sunny for the whole of KB 5. Which was also nice. We then sat in KB house and watched the rugby. Scotland won, which wasn't nice. Got the Beerienteering tonight, I aint competing, but shall be a time-keeper at the start/finish at the Pleasance bar. I imagine it aint going to be too pleasant by the time they all finish. Might end up at the row tonight, but not sure. Want to go out on the 9 o'clock ERC ride tomorrow. | ||

| Crank THAT Soulja Boy!!! 25mph winds, pissing down with rain, 61 miles. East Lothian, the province of titans. It was only really raining for about half an hour, but it was a proper monsoon. the wind was crazy. I kept cycling out with the tail win because I didn't want to turn around and ride back into it. This is a very good idea until it gets to the point where you really have to turn around and ride back into it and you find out you've ridden much further than you would have wanted to know that you had to turn around and ride back into it. Oh well, had to ride into it. Would have got a taxi, but I didn't take any money.
I'll fill in my other training later. I was too hungover to do it at the time. All I shall say is that having nearly 2 bottles of wine (Peter G had a glass and a half to help) before the end of the Haries AGM was a genius idea. As was the Cav.

| It was the Edinburgh University Hare & Hounds' AGM on Wednesday night. I decided to celebrate the occasion with a couple of bottles of Echo Falls. A bottle for each half of the meeting. I nominated Coombs for Captain, only to find out that this meant that I had to give a speech as to why I though he should. I didn't see that coming. Oh well, I think I did him good, it was a close call in the end and Bails took it. I also nominated him for treasurer, which he won. Don't know how as the last thing I said was "He's rubbish with money...". I then got nominated for a few positions, I can't really remmeber what, but I'm sure my speeches were amazing. We then went to Cav. Had a club round of Sambuca, plus a few strawpeedos. Very little memory from this point on. I do remember meeting the basketball team though, always good.
Felt pretty damn rough Thursday morning. Got up about lunch time. Deicded that the best cure would be a steady 100 minutes on the bike. Was gonna go easy, but ended up taking it hard. Practiced my Time Trialling along the dual carriage way, tapping out a steady 30mph whilst in the position. If only the cars weren't doing 70+mph then they would have been in awe at my blistering hang-over speed. Went to be at 8pm.

Wednesday Mar 5 | ||
| Note | ||
| Aha! My legs now feel like I have just done some very very very hard training, should be back to normal by the weekend. I think they are good enough for a bit of a spin today. It's a bit, so I tihnk I'll just use a bike in the gym, plus I can bail and have a sauna if my legs start to get sore again. | ||

| feeling rough, i'll do this later | ||
| Note | ||
| So yeah, cycling on the spinning bike in the gym. Legs were feeling OK, still pretty sore, but trainable. I thought I'd go to the gym and spin incase they started to feel bad so I could just quit and have a suana, and option wouldn't have in the middle of East Lothian. Felt fine, did some hill efforts. I overlapped it with the runners circuits to see what the craic was. The main craic was that appart from a couple of people, everyone was late. Pretty piss poor as nearly all of us have Wednesday afternoons off. Doug and Scotia both need haircuts. | ||
