Orienteering race 29:35 [5]
JK Relay Men's Trophy, Leg 2

Didn't feel to bad on Saturday, so though I'd go for it. JT came back within 90s of the front (which was ShUOC, not nothing to worry about). CK broke his compass, so I gave him mine. DT managed to get through all the radio controls unwarned but came back right at the front, sending out the Compass King seconds behind former world champion Holger Hott, the CK doesn't care how many gold medals you have though, and came back just behink the KOK. I went out just behind Bobach, KOK number 2. Got in a nice group with him and Rob Baker, then spend 2 minutes looking for the 2nd control. I know everyone always says this, and it is a totally shit excuse, but I blame the map for that one...

Those were running faster than me, but I had to advantage of taking micro-shortcuts and got some meters back as we got into the circle. a genius "round the path like a southern fairy" route choice gave me a few seconds lead at 5, which lasted a few seconds. Bobach had a short gaffel towards the end and got ahead, Rob ran faster than me and got away at the end, and Nicholarse Morgan appeared out of nowhere, but then had a long gaffel and so I didn't get too embarrased. Out 10th, back 7th, overtook CLOK (Pooley), BOK (Mark Saunders snr, who kept running a lot longer than I did up the hill to 3) and ShUOC (Will Spain).

Scotia is a legend.
