Road Running 36:30 [3] 4.0 mi (9:08 / mi)
shoes: adidas supernova adapt

Around the block. Walked the hill section just to get some walking training (as I expect to be doing more of that than running at the highlander). Achilles still sore.

Road Running 38:30 [3] 4.3 mi (8:57 / mi)
shoes: adidas supernova adapt

Lewis mills block. Hot and sticky around lunch. Felt crappy the whole time. No energy, achilles bothering me,... Maybe I should start just resting in time for the Highlander this weekend.

Road Running 48:00 [3] 5.4 mi (8:53 / mi)
shoes: adidas supernova adapt

Bollinger block--tired and sore--must be some combination of lunges and intervals. Better get some rest before next weekend.

Road Running 37:30 [4] 4.3 mi (8:43 / mi)
shoes: adidas supernova adapt

Lewis mills block. Hill intervals (4) pushing pretty hard. Need to do this more often.

Road Running 49:30 [3] 5.7 mi (8:41 / mi)
shoes: adidas supernova adapt

Lewis mills and bollinger loop. Variety of paces. Felt OK, just a tad tired from the weekend. Need to start thinking about the Highlander taper...

Orienteering race 1:37:42 [5] **** 7.5 km (13:02 / km) +260m 11:06 / km
shoes: Inov-8 240s

First time on Stuckey Pond. Heard it was tough, so I was pretty conservative and it generally paid off--no big mistakes. Just need to work now on those 30sec wastes all over the place.

Saturday Sep 17, 2011 #

Walk 1:30:00 [2] 3.0 mi (30:00 / mi)
shoes: Montrail Cont. Divide

A slow trail hike with Steve in CT.

Thursday Sep 15, 2011 #

Road Running 47:30 [3] 5.4 mi (8:48 / mi)
shoes: adidas supernova adapt

Bollinger block. Mostly easy, but a few variations thrown in just to see how it felt. Pretty tired (and hungry?)--had to wait till thunderstorms cleared in the AM.

Tuesday Sep 13, 2011 #

Road Running 36:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: adidas supernova adapt

Around the block. Pretty much a recovery run from the battering on Sunday. Actually, no soreness or anything, just tired.

Sunday Sep 11, 2011 #

Off-Road Running 2:40:00 [3] 18.0 km (8:53 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 240s

trails at FCE and North. Distance is rough SWAG. Hills eventually became a real challenge. Back and glutes painful. Otherwise, not too bad for longest run this year. Still, hard to imagine doing Highlander or even O_marathon in this condition. Got to do something about the back...

Road Running 50:30 [3] 5.7 mi (8:52 / mi)
shoes: adidas supernova adapt

Bollinger block, various paces. Ankles felt much better, but lungs are "wheasy" Saw a news report the other night about all this rain causing bad allergies--maybe that's what it is.

Tuesday Sep 6, 2011 #

Road Running 34:30 [3] 4.0 mi (8:38 / mi)
shoes: adidas supernova adapt

Around the block in a light rain. Pretty beat, and feet/ankles are more sore than usual.

Sunday Sep 4, 2011 #

Off-Road Running 1:50:00 [3] * 10.0 km (11:00 / km) +350m 9:22 / km
shoes: Inov-8 350

On FCE and FCN maps. Distance and climb SWAGs. Tried ankle supports and heavier socks with 350 shoes, but still too sloppy. Going to have to save them for winter road running.
Otherwise felt pretty bad--legs felt weak and chest and breathing labored. Almost kind of sick, but I don't think I have any particular illness.

Road Running 33:30 [3] 4.0 mi (8:23 / mi)
shoes: adidas supernova adapt

Around the block with some pace sections thrown in. Felt pretty beat.
