Foxchaser - Ran clean but carefully except for three controls in a row near the end. What was I thinking... Still not planning very well--lots of last minute decisions/changes.

The fixed Hibernia course. 49min--pretty fast, even though I forgot my cleats and ran in my old (slippery) running shoes. So I stuck more to trails--perhaps there's a lesson here...

Started off thinking I would do the usual 2x15min tempo runs. But in the middle of the second one, I tried "springing" up the big hill in the middle and wiped myself out (figuratively). There's clearly some core muscles that aren't as developed as they ought to be. I'm going to have to slip more of this sort of thing into my runs...

Lippit Bollinger loop, 1:15 -> 8:55 pace pretty quick for LSD pace. Felt pretty good except for ankles/achilles

Bollinger loop. A little tight after a few non-running days, but felt pretty strong. Could have been the unintended 'taper', or just getting better... loop time 46:00-- 8:12 pace--faster than usual.

2x15:00 intervals on Bollinger loop. First interval was 45sec faster than previous best (~7:08 pace), second was about equal to previous. I felt sluggish from Valley Goat, but apparently the net effect over the long haul has been positive. But it seems I pushed to hard on the first to be a good 'tempo' pace.

Around the block easy, trying to prevent delayed onset soreness from yesterdays event. It gets me thinking... how does one pace oneself for 2-day events. I wouldn't want to be running another hard long course today.

Fixed Hibernia course 1:03 trying out the new shoes to see if they'll work for upcoming goat. A little tight, but traction was pretty good. Took particularly gnarly routes to test.

New loop: Lippit-Bollinger, 8.4m. 1:18->9:17pace. Back and hips still don't feel right. Don't know if there's some nerve pinched still, or I'm just stiff from dealing with the original injury.
