lewis mills and new rd hill loop. Felt better than previous, but legs just seem a little week. Time to start the strength training I guess.

Around the block--trying to loosen up after yesterday's race. Pretty beat up from all those rocks...

Orienteering race 1:10:00 [5] **** 6.5 mi (10:46 / mi) +245m 9:38 / mi
shoes: Montrail Highlander

Last race of '08 at Mt Penn. A little rusty at the start, so I wasn't paying much attention when I went 180 out from #1. Probably cost me 5 min. After that, nothing too bad other than iron-lunging up the hills. Not sure how I got in such bad shape... Lots of rocks made running pretty difficult and my back was really stiff--made worse by all that stumbling and falling. Navigation not a problem--as long as I can see something, I think I can do pretty well. Its those summer events in Hickory Run, Hibernia, etc. where you can't see more than 20 ft out that I really suck badly.

Road Running 35:00 [3] 3.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Supernova

Around the block--cold and windy. Tried out the new turtleneck base layer, but it (any the seatshirt and breaker) were too hot. Started to feel crappy again after a mile or two. Just a sort of ouchy weakness--like the flu or something.

Friday Dec 5, 2008 #

Road Running 51:27 [3] 6.25 mi (8:14 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Supernova

Greeson hill loop. Tried to maintain fast but relaxed pace to see how it worked out. No hard breathing. ~8:15min/mile pace. Not real fast, but there is lots of climb (2-300m?)
