Note
(injured)

All the normal stiffness from a 30mile run is pretty much gone, but my lower right leg is still swollen above the ankle. My best guess is either some tear or a stress fracture. The ankle itself feels fine, but is also swollen so some fluid must be collecting there. No black-and-blue, but it does look a little off color.
It seems safe for the time being to see how rest works in resolving it, so won't be running for a while. Started stationary bike this AM.

Orienteering race 6:57:05 [5] ** 42.0 km (9:56 / km) +500m 9:22 / km
shoes: Saucony Guide TR

Fair Hill Marathon Definitely not adequately prepared for this... Harder than Valley Forge 2 years ago--both technically and physically. Lots of aches and pains that made things hard. Been fighting a cold (perhaps flu, but I don't think so), so maybe that had something to do with it.
Even though it was breezy and never got out of the 30's, pretty comfortable in light short sleeve shirt and fleece. Took off extra long sleeve shirt at first aid station.
Next time (??!!) will either have to take training more seriously or do the half.

Road Running 36:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Guide TR

Another around the block with ~2-300m pace runs thrown in. Harder than it seems and/or is intended. Perhaps too many "junk miles" per ongoing discussion.
