Road Running 37:15 [3] 4.0 mi (9:19 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Grid

Around the block--no more time left, had to get back to take Bailey to lessons. Even after two days recovery, still lots of aches and pains.

Orienteering race 1:21:00 [4] *** 7.5 km (10:48 / km) +150m 9:49 / km
shoes: Montrail Highlander

First event of the year. A bit shaky in navigating and really slow running from persistent bronchitis or whatever it is. First time at Evansburg--not too thrilled with all the green. An extra hour of walking for control pickup made it a real workout of a day.

Road Running 35:00 [3] 4.0 mi (8:45 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Grid

Around the block--first time running since flu over 2 weeks ago. Hips are out of whack and lungs are in bad shape. Need to keep up core exercises even if running is limited.

Orienteering 1:24:00 [3] *** 5.0 km (16:48 / km)
shoes: icebug mr2

Followed Bailey around on the Green course at Warwick. Some residual bronchitis keeps me from running too hard, so trotting around up and down the hills was probably the most appropriate recovery workout. Need to start picking things up this week (assuming my lungs cooperate...)

Note
(sick)

Well, I guess I should have gotten the flu shot after all... Miserable today--everything hurts, headache, fever (>102). Not a good way to start the season this weekend.

Walk 1:00:00 [3] 4.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Went for a "power walk" at Ridley Creek waiting for Bailey. Couldn't find my map before I left, so I tried to focus on the landscape. Went around in a circle once. Even in winter, you don't want to go off trail there without some idea where the green is. Pretty good workout, particularly on the hills..

Road Running 1:20:00 [3] 7.6 mi (10:32 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Guide TR

Supposed to be a long easy run. Doing OK until about half way when left calf (lower, inside) "popped" and cramped up. Had to walk/run home managing the pain while not freezing with the setting sun.

Road Running 38:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:30 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Grid

Trying to shake off rust from snow days off. Lots of aches and pains. Fartlek-like-- running backwards, sideways, etc. to loosen up.
