Way too windy to walk outside, so I hit the mall on the way to pick up Bailey.

Around the block--nice day finally--in the 50's and not windy. Perhaps I was enjoying the scenery too much, but the time was 3 min slower than last week's record. Tried jogging a few feet--felt like I had a lead suit on.

Walk around the mall at home, avoiding being out in the frigid cold for too long. Compensated somewhat by longer morning workouts, not logged.

Another PT session--nothing too hard or particularly enlightening. Probably one more time this week and that will be it.

Another walk around the block. Felt pretty good till about half way, then uphill was tough strength and fitness-wise. Even the driveway seemed hard at the end. But this was after PT, so I was already tired.

First session of PT, various stretches and exercises, and bike. Nothing too strenuous. Probably will go another week and thats it.

Morning strength and flexibility. L leg seemed better after stretching. Going back to PT tomorrow--he'll probably have more things for me to do and might have some insight into nerve damage recovery

A new year and resolution to get back to keeping my AP log. 2012 was one long descent into O' hopelessness as the result of what appears to have been a disc hernia early in the year. Starting in the early summer with minor leg pains and weakness that I never connected with a nerve/back injury, to completely debilitating pain in November, it was not a good year for training and competing. All that changed with surgery and now I'm pain free. But nearly a year of nerve damage and inactivity has put me back at square one (or perhaps even minus one, as I still don't have feeling back in parts of my leg).
But, the good thing is that I am at bottom and moving in the right direction. Obviously, my sense of competition and motivations are going to require some re-calibration, but Orienteering is a great sport for defining one's own parameters of participation and success.

Around the block - time estimated (need to get back into habit...) Still dragging at end. Left calf is not getting much stronger.
