Road Running (recovery) 35:00 [3] 3.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Adidas Supernova
Around the block, shaking out the aches and pains from this past weekend. Actually, I never did feel very stiff or sore from the rogaine--I think the dehydration got to me first.

Monday Sep 1

Orienteering race 6:00:00 [5] *** 20.0 mi (17:59 / mi)
shoes: Montrail Cont. Divide
Fair Hill rogaine. A less than satisfactory performance. Horribly underestimated the necessary water carrying capacity. Only 2 water stops and I was only carrying a 20oz bottle. Ended up making a major detour to get water and by then I was already cramping. With the detour, covered about 20 miles. Without the detour and presumably feeling a little better, I think I could have followed my intended plan which would have put me near the top of the masters class (about 24 miles). With the detour, I guess I was able to get about 14-15oz water per hour and I think I could have used a lot more. High 80s, very sunny, low humidity (which is what threw me off I think--never felt like I was sweating much--but the salt encustation on me at the end indicate otherwise)
Live and learn...
