Running 1:20:00 [3] 10.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Xmas gift to self. (what now passes for a) Long run in the cold, wet Edinburgh rain. Canal, Meggetland, Dell & back. Nice. shoulder achey under paracetemol, but only really awkward in the slippy mud of the dell.

Note

Finally got round to uploading the WOC courses as I planned them, as they should have been...

Relay, women

www.ph.ed.ac.uk/~gja/Womenunjorned.pdf

Without Jorn's stupid road run leg,
Without that relay gaffle which jayh, and I and all the WOC athlete's found about 30sec long (after Jorn made us extend it because obviously we never found the best route).
And without the unnecessary and unfair last control which I was forbidden even to put out (so they put it in the wrong place).

Middle men,

www.ph.ed.ac.uk/~gja/menunjorned.pdf

Without the unnecessary #3,
With a very different long leg (the women's leg we finally used was OK), Avoiding the area where "It is simply impossible from the map to know which route will be fastest": (quote from Tero, which echoes what the controller, testrunner technical coordinator and I were saying.) In fact, given the forest work happened there in April, nobody had any idea what the best routes were in summer conditions.
And without the controversial penultimate control, which it was barking to move it without seeing the area in summer conditions.

Still, Jorn has the final say because he has to take responsibility for the courses. You'll have noticed that happening, right?

Running 45:00 [2] 5.0 mi (9:00 / mi)

A run, some Christmas cards delivered chez Carcas, and big lap of the meadows and home. Shoulder now very achy, but in a good muscle-ache sort of way, rather than a snappy break sort of way.
