Northern Champs, Mulgrave Woods 10/54 M45&50.

Had zero expectation of what I expected to be a mud fest, but after the first few falls shoulder seemed OK. First section was brutally slippy and muddy, found everything fairly cleanly, but Neil Conway came by from -4 and ran off. Then some long track legs, and suddenly Neil was ahead, then behind, then gone, until the next slippy muddy slope. Got a very good route to 14 (climb, run along the top, descend), then missed 15 slightly to left, and went way further left binning 3+ mins.
On further inspection ... was a really good course, several options I didn't even consider at the time, lots of micro and macro route choice, two long track runs to break things up, both having enough options to catch some people out (used the tunnel both times - this was the correct answer). So, still struggling with balance. "Ran" in the more4's which have amazing studs, and weight to match, and used the wrist compass to avoid smashing the thumb-magnifier and keep hands free for crawling over logs and up slopes. Not elegant, but this was probably the right answer for me today.
