Cycling 4:20:00 [3] 60.0 mi (4:20 / mi)

Kingussie-Birnam
National designated cycle route 7. Designated rather than actually made.
And unlike yesterday's tri, tarmac was at a premium.
Climb to Dalwhinnie was nice, but beyond there deteriorated into dirt road with headwind, which was pretty tough. Aside from a few bits of potholed old A9 so it goes to Dalnamein. Then nice backroads to Pitlochry, flat but with some sharp climbs at Killiecrankie. From there, expected to roll down by the meandering Tay, by the flat A9 and flat railway somehow. Not a bit of it - sharp turn in Pitlochry. Get off and push across pedestrian bridges, the some serioous climbing on a backroad to Logierait - serious by that point anyway.
Then more dirt track by the A9 before finally joining the back road through Craig a' Barns.
Turned out to be quite a lot longer than expected!
Nice and completely unexpected to get something like this done this w/e.

Orienteering 1:45:00 [1] 4.0 mi (26:15 / mi)

Walked round the WOLF middle at Glen Gynack after the flags were taken in. Which was very nice.

Hamstring really not playing today

Note

Now lost access for the SRC. Peewits are automagically immune to members of the public and their dogs, but explode on the sight of anyone holding a map. Apparently.
FFS.
