Still can't run, but took the opportunity of the JEC-SOL for a bit of scenery, and to visit Britain's most expensive school up the B829, the only B road in the country with no junctions along its length. No danger of getting lost then.
Beyond the dead-end roadsign in Aberfoyle the holiday homes and cottages gradually peter out and suddenly the road surface improves along by Loch Ard. Beyond Kinlochard the road climbs through sunlit forest past Loch Chon and then emerging into the spectacular and primal Glen Arklet with the Arrochar Alps in the background. The road ends at a T-junction, from where a short descent to Stonachlachar takes me down to Loch Katrine, sparkling in the sunshine with a seaplane circling overhead. a short break, then hump back up the hill, along by Loch Arklet and down to Inversnaid on Loch Lomond. The final descent was rough, wet and twisty. The hotel is rather formal pile, and after few minutes at Inversnaid the ferry appeared on the Loch inbound. So off up the hill and back to Aberfoyle.
Legs a little weary after yesterday, but a great little ride.
