Orienteering race 1:09:53 [4] 9.4 mi (7:26 / mi)

M55 JK day3 13th St Leonards and Holmbush

Some very odd stuff at the start. a long run for -3 to -2 line, and some confusion there. "Is it a punching start?" No "When do we go then?" ? "Because were 12.42 and the clock says 12:42:15" Oh, you can go then...

And then a long run up a forest road mapped as a ride which was quite disconcerting trying to recall if there had been a kite. Tried to be uber careful to 1, but still took a turn onto a path under thered line, and faffed about a bit, losing maybe 2 mins. After that, played it fairly safe and was generally clean, lost a minute on a longish leg misreading the tracks when cutting a corner (oops). Otherwise, splits in the top 20 except the dead run at the end which slumped into the 40s despite going flat out and still being strong. Boo.

So generally OK. Not the most exciting area and disappointing run speed, but mistakes were my own.
