Orienteering race 52:30 [3] 4.5 mi (11:40 / mi)

SROC Long Distance.

Crawled around some rocks in Eggerthwaite falling over a lot.

I don't have the balance for this, and was glad to get out of the woods. But why a Long distance UKOL race is being won in under 40mins is a mystery.

Three mistakes, first contouring into #5 instead of staying in the runnable stuff and taking a 2-contour hit. <1min. Then lost concentration to #8, think at some point I started navigating to #3, distracted by activity at a control on a crag but couldn't relocate (turned out it was on a pit). Sloppy. ~3mins. Finally, another 90 sec at #15, got confused by big area of green. Turns out that you can't map green on top of the bare-rock symbol they used for limestone pavement. Ooops :( So could have been 8 mins quicker, still finished 13 mins down on M55.

Only went for james selection. After the underpass shenanigans at the sprint, he was still slightly off the pace in 8th. Needs to get his injuries sorted by the JK.
