Sunday Jun 23 #

Orienteering 2:00:00 [0] 4.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

More manageable effort for day 2. J&J back, so arrived too late to set up, everything was running smoothly, so went for a walk around the area.

Saturday Jun 22 #

Orienteering 8:00:00 [0] 5.0 mi (1:36:00 / mi)

Ultimately overambitious day at SprintScotland. Went out at 7, supervised courses at Kinneil, small panic when one alley was closed up with an arch, pens out and frantic map correction. then "helped" at the second race but by then just too tired to function. Came home early with Pyrahs.

Note

I continue to be overwhelmed with kind wishes from APers. Please excuse me if I don't reply personally, its much appreciated.

The striking thing is how many other endurance athletes have had the same problem. It seems that, despite what the doctors say, we are a high risk group for DVT + PE. I speculate that dehydration from long races + driving long distances to get home is a plausible cause. My small sample has one death, multiple full recoveries. Take care out there.

Thursday Jun 20 #

Orienteering 2:30:00 [1] 5.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

Train out, then planning at Calendar. Only walking, slowly, obvs. Very grateful for a lift home from jonX.
