Watched a couple of shows and did the "ramp it up on commercials" thing. Felt a little more comfortable today. Have to do some more stretching later....

Ran some of the sideroads north of Bolton. Was going to hit the trails but thought I would give the ankles a bit of a break after the weekend. The peroneals are a little sore still. Felt pretty good and had a chance to try the new tights I won on the weekend - nice and warm. They do twist a little bit like another pair that I have but I know it is either the way I run or the difference in leg size that causes that and not the tights - sweet prize nonetheless! Hungry and thirsty by the end, probably because I never drink enough water throughout the day...gotta work on that!

My right hamstring was acting up again on my run - an ever-present reminder of this awesome dig I made in a houseleague volleyball game in university - it was so worth it! So until I get to yoga later on I focussed on the hammers and hips.

Since I have cleaned up my office and have painted it in a colour that I like (well it's mostly painted) I now have somewhere with lots of room to do yoga during breaks in the day. Now I just have to keep it clean and "zen-like" - that could be difficult.

Easy jog with Phatty and Hansel in Mono Cliffs on the way back from Orillia (easier for them than me). My legs felt okay but my stomach felt like it was rebelling. I'm blaming it on the egg salad sandwich I had for lunch but I felt better later on so who knows. Ran on snowy trail without snowshoes and the ankles were a little sore. I always feel like everyone else is running along without a problem while I feel like I am stumbling all over the place in the snow...mmmm. We had planned on a longer session but it didn't happen today!

Milhouse's snowshoe raid! Amazing course and a perfectly sunny day! I changed my mind several times about how I was going to approach the course and in the end made the wrond decision - oh well! Other than the first checkpoint my navigating and route choice went well but I decided to cut out too early. I could have punched another couple of checkpoints but didn't know if I would run over time in the end. By the time I realized I could have I was already on my way back. What a day though! So much fun running down the hills through the trees in deep snow! Hard not to yell "yipppeee". I have a feeling if Slice were there I would have heard her yelling that somewhere in the woods. Everyone has to put this one on the schedule for next year...it's a must do.

Palgrave THOMASS race. Ran with Slice again and had a hard time keeping up with an oncoming cold and yesterday's training - good excuses anyway! We mucked up the first box and ended up doubling back - boo... great course set by Bash and I am still upset about missing Crash's brownies at the finish line. There is incentive to be quicker next time....

I feel kind of funny putting this in but I had to walk REALLY fast to keep warm as I made my way around Montreal. There must have been some kind of CV benefit to the day.

More cold windy weather but things felt a little better today. The quads were burning and my heart rate went up quite a bit whenever some fearless teenager blew by me. Of course I couldn't see them coming because I had two hats on, the hood of my jacket and my goggles so I didn't have any peripheral vision.....oh I am such a wimp now!

Phatty and I made it to Tremblant and got all of our equipment and managed to get on the hill for a few hours......freezing, absolutely freezing. It took a few runs to remember how to do this. And to think I grew up skiing every weekend. Well some things have changed and those include my willingness to risk frostbite for a few runs and my "no fear" factor. I now ski like my mom (no offence to her but I did used to make fun of how slow she skiied when I was a kid)

I don't know why I find it so hard to get outside into the cold because once I am there there isn't anywhere else I would rather be. I ran the HVTrail across Duffy's Lane and up to Casltedurg and back. Stopped a couple of times to look at deer and some hawks (couldn't tell what kind). A gorgeous sunny run and I was dressed perfectly. The hands were even a little warm....

Phatty and I headed over to one of the hills in the valley to get a hill workout in (6x200m). I HATE RUNNING HILLS! I do however know that it is a must, especially for someone like me so I will commit to doing it more often. I felt like I was going to have a heart attack on the second hill (all of this while Phatty was blowing by me like I was standing still). uuughhhgh

Followed by watching the movie Pride and Prejudice which was incredible. One of my favorite books and I think they did an amazing job with the movie. I think I will just turn my training log into a movie review site.....

Rode while watching the movie "Friends with Money". I thought I would take advantage of the boys being away by getting a chick flick but I missed on that one - nothing happened - terrible movie. It even had J.Anniston and Francis McDormand in it.

A much needed yoga session and I managed to get some flow this time. I really pushed it and even attempted upward bow a couple of times - ouch! Since I have been following the same video for so long now I have been missing out on some postures that I love. I subscribe to the yoga journal and decided that I will throw in a couple of new postures at the end of the video. So today I threw in a couple of 2 minute sirsasanas (headstands). It's been a while since I have done that and remember how much I love it.

Once again indoor riding because my blisters are still to sore to run. This ride felt better though and I used the commercials during "Friends" and "Law and Order" to ramp up the intensity, man there are a lot of commercials on tv. I then followed this workout up with a couple of Creemore's and an episode of "Falcon Beach" while stretching ( I have a thing for cheesy shows). It's a good thing I am not single because I have a feeling that all of my nights would be like this one. Phatty is on a boys weekend and since my car is kaput I was confined to the metropolis that I live in.

uuugghghgh I can't wait until these blisters on my heels heal! Today would have been a great day for a run on the trail but the blisters won't allow it just yet...Maybe I will do some stretching tonight and some core exercises during the commercials while I drool over McDreamy and then at 10 McTreemy!!!!
