| Snowshoeing 40:00 [2] | ||
| I am not sure if this was the exact amount of time but close enough. Phatty and I parked the car and then had to run down highway 60 for a bit to get to the lookout trail that we were going to snowshoe on. At least it helped us warm up a bit since it was freezing out. Once we got to the lookout we just spent a couple of minutes listening to the ringing in our ears since that was all we could hear. It was sooooo nice. And then Phatty got down on one snowshoe and proposed. I said "of course" and then with snot dripping down our faces we took a couple of photos to remember the occasion. It took about 5 tries before we got one that looked like we were actually happy. The minus 25 degree temps made it difficult to move our mouths into a smile! Definitely a snowshoe to remember!
We couldn't stay for a longer snowshoe since we had a family Christmas dinner in Orillia. Needless to say the family was ecstatic! Apparently they didn't think highly of some other boyfriends in years gone by....Phatty gets the thumbs up all around though!!!

| Snowshoeing 1:00:00 [1] | ||
| Up in Algonquin with Phatty. Part of my birthday surprise. We had a great snowshoe at night under a full sky of stars but the -28 degree weather made us happy that our yurt was heated. | ||

| Yoga 50:00 [1] | ||
| Hard to get into some of the postures after stuffing myself with a delicious birthday meal thanks to Bash and Bent. Phatty and I much appreciated being introduced to the local fine cuisine - thanks again! | ||

| Trail Running 1:30:00 [3] | ||
| Out with the Wednesday night crew minus Goose who is now full into coaching nordic. We did have a couple of new additions though with Garth and MrBiker (I just made those up now so we will see if they stick), and with Phatty, Rocky, and I our group was 5 strong. I became suspicious when Scooby didn't show up after saying he would be there. Rocky called him and when he didn't answer we left without him. About 10 minutes into the run I asked Rocky if she thought Scooby was scheming to scare us somewhere along the dark trail. I had heard stories of him going to great lengths to give people near coronaries before so I began to think we were the next victims.
Just as predicted he startled Phatty (who was ahead of the rest of us) but didn't have the heart to give him a good fright. It turns out that he was sleeping on the couch when we called so although he didn't plan to scare us initially it worked out that way since he had to join us further along the trail. Great temperatures and fun to have new people out! We inspected the dead deer with no hind legs for a bit near Duffy's before continuing on to make the run a little longer tonight..... Thank god for running groups that get you out at night - it was beautiful out!

| Orienteering 1:12:00 [4] | ||
| The second Thomass of the year - the Wine-O! at Mt. Nemo. All of the familiar faces were there and Slice and I decided to start with the big boys which made for a longer sprint start (my favorite). The whole race was pretty smooth with the standard minor errors until I was thinking too far ahead to the finish and blew right by control #8. I was convinced I was heading right for it and when I stepped around the rock pile and it wasn't there I knew I went by it. I turned around and the 4 people who were right behind me all pointed behind them to let me know I had run by it. Oh well. The only other pisser of the day was when Mr. Miller practically elbowed me out of the way to get to the finish punch first - I should have hip-checked him! Next time! | ||
