Road Running 50:00 [4]
I'm putting this at a 4 because my legs were feeling really tired and in the sleet and wind it just seemed so much harder. Phatty and I ran around town and then up to the gym to spin. We were hoping to get outside today to ride but NO WAY! It was insane out so the gym it was.
Riding indoor (Trainer) 1:00:00 [3]
Rode between a 2 and a 4 on the spin bikes at the gym. I was sure we had been on them for an hour when I asked Phatty how long. 36 minutes was his reply -uuughghhgh I can't wait to get outside to ride but I want to be sure that no cars are going to slide into me when I do.
Road Running 15:00 [2]
On the way home from the gym.
Strength training 10:00 [3]
That's all I could muster after the boring bike ride!

Friday Mar 7

Road Running 50:00 [3]
With Phatty around B-Town. Neither one of us felt like it, especially him since it took him 2 hours to get home from work, but we forced ourselves to. I felt the legs from yesterdays workout which is good since it means that I didn't take it too easy on myself.

Wednesday Mar 5

Trail Running 1:00:00 [3]
With Mr.Biker, Phatty, Goose, and Rocky. We slid our way along the HVT trying not to go down too many times on the ice but there wasn't much we could do to stop ourselves on the 82 steps. Phatty went down first and then the rest of us gave in and sat down to slide the rest of the way.

The legs were a little sore from the weekend but not too bad. Both TFL areas were a little tight but that's not bad considering.

Good temps tonight!

Sunday Mar 2

Snowshoeing 4:00:00 [4]
We had our route planned for today and it would give us plenty of time but would leave us too far away from the controls in the north to get them. Once we burned through the first controls that had tracks all the way to them from the day before we changed our minds and decided to head north to pick up some high point controls. This was all going well until we thought that we were world class half marathon runners and would be able to get 12km to the south on road, about 8km to the west and then pick up a bunch of other controls all in a matter of 3 and a half hours - WRONG! The suffering of road running while getting very few points began and by the time we were going for our last 70 pointer the course spit in our face and gave us a snow covered snowmobile trail instead of a paved road - ugghh . We knew we wouldn't make it so we turned around and picked up 45 more points before heading back.

The day was great but we should have stayed in the bush to enjoy the snow. The other Canadian teams all had great days and the skiers had a blast with the new snow and snow covered roads. Milhouse and Dee cleaned up overall while the Bobkittens (Dogrunner and Slice) showed up the men to take second and The Treehuggers held on to fourth despite Bent's ailing leg. Phatty and I shuffled around the roads all day cursing our decisions and vowing to practice route selecting once we got home. If nothing else we got in some good road training and learned some valuable lessons. It's always fun to go on a road trip with great friends and spend some time outdoors in all kinds of conditions.

Oh and a special thanks to our hostess Linda at the Harris Lodging in Sandy Creek (if you are ever looking for lodging its a great place) and the Canadian Crew should be on the website soon!!!

Thanks again everyone for a great weekend! Time to do some serious stretching over the next couple of days!

As part of the snogaine. I will write more later on our poor route choices and then the poorer route choices we made to try to compensate for those poor route choices!
