Orienteering 2:40:00 [1]

Out with my mom at the GHO Icebreaker. Milhouse out on a great beginner nav clinic that I helped out with and then followed my mom around (while stopping to help out other beginner groups) as she navigated her way around. It was great training for me to slow down and practice all the essential elements of orienteering and my mom had a great time. She really picked it up fast and I think we can expect to see her out at events in the future. She also did Phatty's Thomass the next day and loved it.

Skate skiing 1:15:00 [3]

Evening ski with Goose and Phatty at Mono - guess what, I suck again. The snow was a bit icy and I was having a heck of a time keeping my balance.

Road Running 50:00 [3]

After work with Phatts when he got home from BC. And then we went home and proceeded to have the worst 1hr40min chess game on the computer that ended in a draw - ughhghgh. I had him cornered with nowhere to go and didn't realize that this was a draw (stupid rule). The sad part is both of us had a king and two pawns left and were chasing one another around the board - brutal game!

Skate skiing 1:40:00 [3]

What a beauty ski out in Mono. The trails were great, I knew there would be very few people out to witness my ongoing attempt to master the skate skis and then boom I arrive in the parking lot to see 4 young fit beautiful people getting out of their car with "Canada" jackets on....oh shit now they were going to be flying up behind me while I flail around on the hills.

I got lucky though and didn't see them out there and was able to cruise along with Coach LD and Goose's instructions in my head. I think I made some major headway on the hills today. I used way less energy and was able to keep some momentum. Finally!

Had the tunes playing and felt pretty good! As Coach LD always says "no matter what kind of mood you come in, you can't leave feeling anything but great"

I even put in a couple of legs only and double poling loops (my paddle training for Ecuador!)

Skate skiing 2:30:00 [3]

Met up with Hansel and his natural born skier wife (can we think of a good nickname here) for some skate skiing at Horseshoe. I was bagged from yesterdays epic but just told myself that the suffering was good training. CK was a natural on skis (her first time0 and I am just thankful that I didn't take her out when I wiped since she is 5 months pregnant. Great day and the temps just kept climbing.

I went out for a classic loop when Hansel and CK went home and it turned into a bit of a "walk on skis" since I was so bagged. I called it a day after that but I am so glad I went up.

Classic skiing 1:00:00 [2]

I was dying here.....sooooo tired.
