Training Log Archive: Leanimal

Casual stroll at Albion Hills with DogRunner, La Femme, Phatty, James and Coach LD for a little nav practice before RTH tomorrow and just to get outside on such a great day. La Femme and Coach LD took turns leading us through the bush to controls from an old orienteering map and they both did a great job.

Beautiful day.

Really quick hilly walk around town at lunch. Too beautiful out to miss. I was hoping to run this week before Raid the Hammer but I was so sore after bounding on Tues. that I decided to take it easy until the race. I think it is all of the hopping on one foot uphill sideways and balancing that is really working my adductors.

Quick brisk walk while I had a break at work....chilly at night but beautiful.

Another awesome ski bounding night with Coach LD, Rocky, Scooby, Mrs. Scooby and Mike. Starting to feel better with my balance but I will have to recalibrate in January anyway!

A stellar paddle in the morning on the Humber River for the start of the "BFF" or the "Bolton Fall Fifty" in celebration of Coach LD's birthday. We had 4 canoes and a kayak heading down the river and no major mishaps. A couple of close calls while two boats tried to run a beaver dam that was about 3 feet high but nobody ended up in the water. A short portage to TA1 and then the gang went out on their bikes while I drove up to TA2/TA3 at Bash and Bent's house. The ride would have been a tad uncomfortable for me and would have taken twice as long.

Nice hike in Palgrave with Bent, Bulletdog and Phatty, who has some a bit of tendonitis in his ankle while the rest of the group ran in the area before meeting back up with us at the house. Beautiful sunny day and a great way to celebrate a friend's birthday!!
