Road Riding 1:30:00 [3]

Out on the mountain bike for some road riding. It took everything I had to get out the door for this one. Weeanimal and Phatty had just risen from a 2hour plus nap and I was feeling like doing the same. Of course once I was out there I decided to make the most of it. I tried to hit the hills hard to see what the legs had. Felt pretty good. I think I should be good to go for this weekend. Warm out there. Bike is in good shape too although I am pretty sure I need a new set of brake pads after that last downhill into Rossland.

Trail Running 1:20:00 [3]

Legs are definitely coming back. Tried to get out before it got too hot. Followed the run up with a nice lake swim with Weeanimal before going to get a massage. OUCH! I can't believe that after having a baby I still find this one of the most painful things. My lateral calves, biceps femoris, and lateral quads were a mess. I thought I was going to throw up when she was working on my calves.

Hopefully that will get rid of some of the leftover crap from Extreme.

Railtrail run in O-town with a few intervals in there. Legs came around at about 30. minutes. Thank God!

Mountain Biking 2:10:00 [3]

Out for a wet ride with Goose. Put the bike back together, which wasn't that difficult since I had a sweet bike box, thanks FB. Legs feel like dead weight but hopefully I can get a massage by the end of the week and all will be right again. Pitstop at Bent's office for some blister zapping. He has all of the toys and blasted my heel with O3. I will have to post some pics. Goose and I went in to the clinic covered in mud (luckily it was lunch hour) and I insisted on having the doggy towel put on the seat before I sat down. I can't believe how much more than a dentist my dentist is. Bike mechanic, light guru, blister healer......it really is a one-stop shop! Thanks Bent, I can't believe how much better the blister looks.

Trail Running 1:00:00 [2]

Like meeting up with an old friend (it has been over a week since I have done any real activity).

I got the worst blister I have ever gotten at RTNX. Details will come in my report but basically I battled a severe blister on my left heel from the first leg of the race. It got infected and I had it treated but it was a constant source of pain and worry. So it is going to take a while to heal but I put some foam on it today so I could get out and run. Didn't feel too badly. The legs are feeling okay, although I didn't really test them out with any speed. The joints are what I would describe as rusty. The swelling in my knees and ankles is long gone but the byproducts are still there so a bath may be in order (and I hate baths). All in all I was happy with how I felt today. Now I just have to put my bike together so I can get out and ride.
