Road Riding 1:30:00 [3]
KD offered to watch Weeanimal for a couple of hours so I took advantage and made the best out of this crappy winter day. No snow, icy trails, and the fact that I have to get back on the bike meant I opened the garage and decided to move some things aside to try to find it. Yup, just where I left it - covered in dry mud after a ride with Scotty last December. Yikes. I brushed some of the mud off of the drive train, threw some lube on, stole Phatty's front wheel (the valve broke off my tube while I was trying to inflate it) and was off. I had some extra resistance training in the beginning while both brakes rubbed and then all was good. The legs finally came around and it felt great to be on the bike.
I did manage to confirm my suspicion that it is not that easy to ride on sheer ice. Coming home through the park I thought I might be able to just glide across about 60ft of ice. NOPE. Down in a blaze of glory. Luckily no-one was around to see. Obviously everyone else is smarter than I am and are staying away from the ice rink path.
