Trail Running 3:10:00 [3]

Of course the forecast said rain since it is the weekend but thankfully the temperature was perfect. I was up first so that Phatty could spend some time with Weenanimal and I would have her in the afternoon when she naps. I chose a tour of the mountain range behind our house and although I thought I knew the trails well enough to leave the map behind I was wrong. Nothing too major but I did have another bushwhacking session in store for me. I had planned on a bit longer route but took the road back from Col des Contrabandiers (seems I am spending a lot of time there lately) so that Phatty could get out before the thunderstorm came in.

Felt better running today. Ran more of the stuff on the trails than I normally do. Funny that I think picking a route that does not involve going to the top will be less climbing. I think it is probably double since I end up contouring but climbing and descending quite a bit in the process. Was bagged by the end since I only brought 6 crackers and a litre and a half of water. Still loving the speedcross. I know this wet, slick run was a lot easier in the speedcross than any other pair I have. Legs felt good, hip was okay.

Trekking 2:00:00 [1]

Casual trek on some trails across from the back side of the Veyrier with a girl from Oregon. Great to get out with someone who is pretty green to the area too. I think we will probably be doing a lot of running/trekking/exploring together. The view from their house is stunning.

We had planned a longer trek but were drinking coffee and chatting too much so we had to cut it short. Next time I am sure we will get further.

Yoga 45:00 [1]

Good suggestion by Phatty to do some yoga, we both need it bigtime. I felt more like sleeping but joined him with some Vinyasa flow. Good class.

Trail Running 2:45:00 [2]

This was more of a "I just need to get outside" adventure than an actual run. I had a plan but spent a bit of time trying new trails and getting a bit lost. I had on my new Speedcross 3 and I LOVE THEM. They are the perfect shoe for this terrain. It was wet and slick but I had so much more grip than with any other shoe I own. I felt way more confident, even in the bushwhacking section that I managed to fit in there.

Ran when I could but it was a lot of up and some technical descents. The trail that Phatty and I tried to go on last weekend but was deep in snow is now completely clear to I checked that out.

Just a little anxious to hear that my parents make it home safely.

Trail Running 1:45:00 [3]

Pushed as hard as I could to the Col des Sauts. This was made possible by the 80 year old man that I was not dropping as fast as I would have liked. I ran as much as I could and my legs were okay with that but once again my chest cold was bit limiting. Nice cool temps and I took the trail down the west side from the Col. Nice switchback trails to run through the forest back via the Talabar. Off the hospital, hopefully for the last time as my parents should be on a flight tomorrow. A nurse is here to escort them back since he will need oxygen on the plane. Not the vacation they were hoping for and Weeanimal is in for the shock of her life when Grandma isn't jumping at her every command!!
