Trail Running 1:40:00 [3]

Want out to the 11th line to get some trail running in but it was near impossible with how much I was sinking. I was barely moving and the harder I tried, the worse it was. So when I got out to the 10th I decided to do a run on the concession roads instead. Losing all of this snow sucks.

Skate skiing 1:15:00 [4]

I had to work for this one and was so close to going back to the car for my classic skis but I need more practice on my skate skis. I know I would have been flying if I had Goose to wax for me but I was coming to a halt on downhills on skate skis if you can imagine. I did a lot of one skating and double poling and only had the chance to work on my balance on the big downhills but what can I complain about on a sunny morning in the Gats. Another yummy sandwich to follow for the drive home.

Classic skiing 2:00:00 [3]

Another incredible ski in the Gats. Solo this time and I was going to wear my iPod but decided that I wanted to hear what was going on around me which is usually what I do. It was awesome. Followed the loop of the parkways up with a scrumptious egg salad sandwich at the boulangerie in old Chelsea. I was a little disappointed when I walked in the door and the girl immediately spoke to me in English. One more ski in the morning before I drive home. Fun afternoon hanging with Emi and Moopoint.

Classic skiing 1:45:00 [3]

I love this park so much. Great ski with DogRunner in much warmer temps. Fun climb up Pink Lake hill and back on trail 15. The time just flies when you are out there.

Classic skiing 2:30:00 [3]

After a lone drive up to Ottawa I was rewarded with an incredible ski in Gatineau Park with DogRunner, Linda and Amelia. DogRunner pulled Amelia up Fortune hill like a Champ in the Chariot and then handed her over to Nana while we toured around. The park is beautiful with so much snow and ice on the trees but it means that many of the trails off the parkway are closed. Absolutely great day out there in the sun. We stopped at a hut for snacks and so that Amelia could refuel and then DogRunner bombed down Fortune hill to the car in the darkness without a headlamp.....we won't tell her Dad that. She was a trooper in the Chariot too, slept most of the way. Back out again today, and the next day....

Skate skiing 1:40:00 [4]

Thought I was going to die on this first skate ski of the year. The snow was soft and heavy as I didn't get out there until the afternoon. Had to dodge a lot of people just sort of standing around in the skate tracks. Felt better as the time went on but it was hard work. Can't wait to join Phatty in France, he sounded like he had a great weekend skiing.
