Training Log Archive: Leanimal

After finding out the Maxi race was cancelled Harps, Phatty and I decided to head over the Semnoz for a run in the cold rain and snow. The weather is unbelievable. The worst in over a hundred years! My legs felt tight and heavy but that's likely from sitting on my butt for the past week. Could have used that week to train with Harps which is a bit of a bummer too.

I think I have had some insight into the Bobkittens "the next generation" this past week with Weeanimal and SF hanging out so much. It goes a little bit like this, Amy mentions something about the outdoors and SF is at the door putting her shoes on and trying to get out. I tell Weeanimal to get ready and she finds something else to do, not because she doesn't want to go outside but because she wants to do the opposite of what I ask. Then SF grabs Weeanimal by the hand and says "Mari come". While Weeanimal puts her shoes on SF stands in front of her and stomps her feet until they are ready to go.

Not sure why she is so slow at TAs but the SFs hand grabbing and foot stomping help a lot. What am I going to do when they go home?

Temps here are shit and the rain keeps coming. Guess that means the Harps is in town although he blames it all on the Mrs. Trails should be a nice sloppy mess this weekend for the race. Two course modifications have been made but that adds another 3 Kms and 400m of elevation, damn. Forecast keeps changing but the other day it was called for a high of 4 and a low of -1! With a freezing level of 1500m. That would mean I would likely be running in the snow since the first climb reaches 1700m and we will be there as the sun is rising. The forecast was better last time I looked but we will see on race day.

Easy cruise along the waterfront in the only sunshine we have seen in a long time. Must be because the Forbes went up to Chamonix where the clouds followed them. Saw them setting up the start finish area for the Maxi race. It's going to be nice to be able to walk down to the start since its about a km from the house. It won't be nice that it is going to be 2:15am and freezing cold outside. Happy French Mother's Day to me!
