Training Log Archive: Leanimal

A very sad day on the skis for me today. I had a bit better luck with my technique but we are going to film me skating next week and send the footage to the Coaches in Bolton (with no rights to distribute on the internet). My skis are hitting at the back when I skate and I have a feeling I know why but despite my best efforts I cannot stop doing it on the climbs. I was feeling shitty before going out so had a terrible ski but the day was so great I had to go. I spent two hours playing with Weeanimal in the snow and sun before going out.

Weeanimal skied for a short while before we left and she was looking pretty good by the end.

Beeeauty day out. Headed up the Veyrier after class on a cloudless day. As I approached Prevernet I saw a guy taking a photo of what I thought was a tree. I knew exactly which one because it's the one that looks like a giant version of men's genitalia (all relative I guess). I kind of giggled and then he looked up and saw me. I gave a somewhat knowing look but then realized that he was simply taking a photo of the interpretive sign beside the tree. I suppose not everyone is as immature as I am. I quickly (again relative as I was running uphill) moved on.

The sun came out to make for a very springlike run, warm and muddy. I saw a whole garden full of daffodils and our roses are starting to sprout. Crazy. I know this is not what the Canadians want to hear, sorry.

This might have been a 4 as my wax was not suitable for the conditions. Thankfully all of the rain we had in town was snow up in the mountains last night. Unfortunately we aren't privy to the kind of grooming that they do in the Gats so it was VERY soft on some trails. Phatty and I had a miscommunication when he got back so I went out on a trail that he told me not to go on because it hadn't been groomed. TOUGH. Oh well. Another great day in the mountains and Weeanimal sleeps like a champ after these days. She ran beside me rather than sit in the chariot so she got quite a bit of exercise with me and then with Phatty while I skied.

Some of the time with Weeanimal in the chariot and some of the time skiing beside her while she ran.
