I actually have no idea how long we were out for but we decided to take on the Semnoz on the road bikes. It started out nice and warm and we just steadily made our way up the 16km climb. Of course as we reached the exposed summit the rain started to come down and the wind picked up. Neither one of us is extremely confident descending quickly on road bikes when it's dry so the slick pavement slowed us down. That and the fact that the brakes on my bike that Slice was riding are stiff so she had claw hand after about 1 minute. By the bottom of the descent I was shaking so much that my front wheel was swerving back and forth. Thankfully we made it home alive but not before buying some yummy soup to heat up for lunch. No views of Mont Blanc today but hey, we had been there and done that earlier in the week.
After a nice sleep in and some breaky in town we headed up from Le plan toward Flagere where we had a bite and then continued on toward Planpraz. It was a great day for activity although both of us were feeling a little fatigued. We blamed it on the eclair and croix de savioe from the day before. It didn't stop us from getting a chausson au pommes and brioche today though. We had great views of the Mont Blanc massif and only had to do a bit of snow trekking.
A stellar couple of days in Chmaonix although it's hard to avoid that. We have plans to road ride the next couple of days but the weather is not looking so great. I hope it holds off.
