Sunday Feb 21 #

x-c skiing (skate) 1:15:00 [2] 8.0 km (9:23 / km)

Shaganappi. The snow was almost wet and a bit suctiony in some spots, but pretty good for the most part. Grooming had been blown in quite a lot, and was a bit hard to follow in places.

Saturday Feb 20 #

x-c skiing (skate) 2:45:00 [3] 20.6 km (8:01 / km)

CNC - windy but warm and sheltered in the trees. Salt Lake - Banff Loop - Bow - Wooded Bliss - Grey Wolf - Cougar - Rundle - Cold Shoulder - Banff - Coal Cut - Bruin - Roller Coaster - Meadowview - Freddies Flip - Coyote - Banff - Salt Late (to continue where I had left it earlier) - Banff. Stopped numerous times to chat. Needed that to manage the full time as legs rather fatigued.

Friday Feb 19 #

x-c skiing (classic) 1:00:00 [1] 5.5 km (10:55 / km)

Confed - green, blue, orange, driving range

orienteering 1:08:22 [3] 7.6 km (9:00 / km)

St Andrew's Hieghts TNT. Sunny and warm but windy. Felt underdressed at start, but warm by the end. Only missed one as there were school kids in the school field. Didn't reduce distance by much. Legs were pretty stiff this morning, but the ski loosened them up enough. Felt ok running, but getting tight by the end.

Thursday Feb 18 #

orienteering (tnt) 58:00 [2] 7.0 km (8:17 / km)

West Hillhurst TNT. Distance is actual. Missed a couple of controls as running out of time. Took the more interesting routes across parks at start, but may not have been the quickest, especially with the deep snow.

x-c skiing (classic) 10:39 [4] 2.3 km (4:38 / km)

Intervals. 6 x 10 sec then a 700m loop 3x (including a hill).

x-c skiing (classic) 1:00:00 [2]

Worked on one-step-double-pole and cornering with a skate turn.

x-c skiing (classic) 20:00 [2] 2.5 km (8:00 / km)

Confed. Lap all around the outside including around culvert at SE corner.

Wednesday Feb 17 #

x-c skiing (classic) 20:00 [1] 2.3 km (8:42 / km)

Bowness Park. Nice grooming. Just followed my nose or really the tracks and wended around. Could have gone further but didn't have time.

Walk/run 1:15:00 [1] 5.5 km (13:38 / km)

Bowness/Baker loop

Tuesday Feb 16 #

orienteering (tnt) 57:00 [2] 6.5 km (8:46 / km)

Sunnyside TNT. Lovely morning. Even got warm enough to remove gloves part way round. Managed to miss #9, but it did make an interesting route choice to #10. Went at a very easy pace, stopping to take photos as views across to mountains were spectacular. Distance is actual, not straight line.

Walk/run 45:00 [1] 3.5 km (12:51 / km)

Walk around Sandy Beach/Britannia/River Park. Very pleasant.

Monday Feb 15 #

x-c skiing (skate) 1:10:00 [3] 9.75 km (7:11 / km)

Confed. Blue and yellow loops both directions, flat green and most of orange. Sunny, a bit warmer but not exactly balmy, glide seemed ok except on some of the hills. Really bad on the blue hill to the club house. Bumped into a number of people and stopped to chat.
